@DrShayPhD @Pontifex Here's a question worth sitting with: If the sins of members could invalidate an institution's moral authority, which institution in all of human history would still have the standing to speak about human dignity and why would that institution be more trustworthy than the Church?

@DrShayPhD @Pontifex the doctor accountable and return to the standard that was betrayed. The Church doesn't ask to be trusted because its members are sinless. It asks to be heard because its founder is God.

The Catholic Church has consistently taught that each human life, from the moment of conception until natural death, is sacred and deserves to be protected. Indeed, the right to life is the very foundation of every other human right. For this reason, only when a society safeguards the sanctity of human life will it flourish and prosper.

@DrShayPhD @Pontifex and forever" (Hebrews 13:8). Sinful men and women in the Church have betrayed that teaching repeatedly — and will be judged for it (cf. Matthew 18:6). But that betrayal proves the teaching, it doesn't disprove it.

@DrShayPhD @Pontifex Here's what the post gets wrong at the deepest level: The argument assumes that because members of the Church sinned, the Church's moral claims are invalid. But that's like saying a hospital can't promote health because some of its doctors have gotten sick.

How many women would you say veil in your mass? Ladies, do you veil? There's about 10 in my Sunday mass, 2 at Tuesday mass.

@stelzner_n1150 I stopped believing in God because I felt like I wasn’t welcome because of my sins. When I became Catholic I realized it was more my own shame the devil used to convince me to stay away from God. You are always welcome to come home. Divorce is a big wound but Jesus loves you.

When I got divorced 11 years ago I left the Catholic Church because I didn’t feel welcome. I thought I committed a sin. I felt shame. I joined a non denominational church. Should I go back to the Catholic Church? I’m thinking about it.

@matthewdmarsden don’t leave Jesus because of Judas. I read the comments so I get you’re joking but that’s the real answer to a question like that.

I have decided that I should leave the Catholic Church. All the messages of love and tolerance from some Christians on this platform have made me see what good examples they are of their faith. Fair. Loving. Willing to engage in genuine conversation. My dilemma is...what denomination should I convert to? Give me your best shot and tell me why the Church you go to is Christ's true Church on earth.
