Good pitching and a GRAND SLAM led Mesa to a 9-3 win over UCCS in their opening round game of the RMAC Tournament. ⚾️ Andrew Pogue helped Mesa get off to a good start as he held UCCS to just 1 run through 4 innings on 2 hits, while striking out 2. ⚾️ Mr. Incredible Paul Schoenfeld provided the spark on offense with a GRAND SLAM in the bottom of the 4th inning to give Mesa a 5-0 lead. Schoenfeld finished the day going 2 for 5 with 4 RBIs, 2 Runs, and the Grand Slam. ⚾️ Kolby Felix also had a big hit for the Mavericks, when he added a couple of runs to Mesa’s lead with a 2 RBI home run to center field in the bottom of the 8th. ⚾️ Stevenson Reynolds also had a great day at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a RBI and a run scored. With the win, Mesa will be looking to eliminate CSU Pueblo from the Tournament tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 P.M.
