You won’t find many players drafted 56th overall with the upside of Vsevold Ishchenko But with his combination of height, handle, and feel, Ishchenko is an interesting developmental product for Dallas

People wanted to see Cedric Coward, who made the all-rookie team last season, dominate in Summer League And today, he did He scored 19 points in the 2nd half (28 total) to power the Grizzlies to the Championship game He also had 6 rebounds & 5 assists

When evaluating young players, I want to see how they impact a game when their shot isn’t falling Today, Cam Boozer’s shot is off but he’s making an impact with his playmaking & his work on the offensive boards Look at this skip pass out of the post

@pointmadebball I just think the team was pretty weak besides him. Hoping he can be better off ball though, he’s had good numbers as an off ball shooter!

@_undertheboards He’s been good man! Already all-rookie so he’s about where I expected. Really good defensive flashes as per usual. Would’ve loved to see him running the O more

Always impressed with Brayden Burries’ strength and physicality as a driver He’s stocky but athletic, and has elite body control around the rim Should help his finishing translate well, especially with NBA level spacing around him

And I think Nate Ament’s rim FG% raised a lot of red flags for some when it came to evaluating him as a prospect But contextualizing those stats a little by factoring in the team’s lack of spacing & him growing into his frame made it less of a worry to me

I think one of the biggest criticisms about Nate Ament’s shooting form was about his slower release I don’t think he’ll have an issue long-term, given his point of release is so high and how he’s still comfortable shooting despite a closeout
Point Made Basketball@pointmadebball

Have said it before, but I think Nate Ament easily eclipses his college 3PT shooting percentage in the NBA His shooting form is pure and projectable, and not having to be the driving force of the Milwaukee offense will bump up his efficiency in a big way

Sheesh, I love watching Brayden Burries play He’s so smart and clearly ready for the physicality of the league But he also changes speed and plays with pace, which speaks to how refined he is for a rookie Love that he also has a floater in his bag, too

@McdonaldLa83347 I like the playmaking but the efficiency is concerning so for where they were drafted I was a little more impressed with Ishchenko

Koa has balled, but not sure he showed anything that addresses the big concerns I have for him. How will he continue his downhill scoring efficiency against better defenders and athletes? And there is still a notable lack of perimeter shotmaking that eats at the “tweener” concerns

@NegroPolitics I liked him a ton. Someone that definitely has a case to be here given how much he surprised me with the perimeter shot making but kept him off because of his general lack of overall efficiency

@kwhelan11 I like Philon a lot, but some of the concerns (inefficiency & impact off-ball) popped up too.

Really interested to see how Ebuka Okorie looks against legitimate defenders in the regular season, but you can see how quick he is Very reminiscent of a prime Dennis Schroder with his downhill burst and explosiveness
