@Medda1897 The photo was taken at Firhill during the Scottish Junior Cup semi-final in 1973. Irvine Meadow XI beat East Kilbride Thistle 4-1.

Back at Meadow Park for the Wednesday Club at last. And in National Book Week our guests were Dave Scott (from Nil-by-Mouth) and football author Daniel Gray. Dave, Daniel and roughly 30 members enjoyed an afternoon of stories and nostalgia.

@wallgeo @MeddaPicsofPast @GaryPeebles4 It was, George. On 6 Nov 71 Port Glasgow won 3-2. Meadow put in a protest and were successful. On 27 Nov 71 the replay ended 2-2. The third game at Meadow Pk was played on 4 Dec 71 and Meadow won 3-1.

Johnny McIntyre not only captained the Meadow team to success in the 1963 Scottish Junior Cup Final and scored the winner three minutes from the end, but at one point he threw himself along his goal line to block a scoring shot with his face, losing a couple of teeth.
