@MikeBrewerEcon @PJTheEconomist @MarshallLibrary Yes still lots of essays in Cambridge econ in part of the 90's - more than today! - but this generalised "Essay" examination paper seems to be long gone...

@poleconCRASSH @PJTheEconomist @MarshallLibrary I had a Part II Econ exam in the 1990s that was a 3 or possibly even 4 hour essay on a single topic. The titles were not as obtuse as these, though!

This is fascinating. Have other subjects changed as much as economics - at least in how they are taught and examined?
