TODAY: A Republican senator has told Axios that Tulsi may not "even survive the committee process" amid concerns over her stance on Assad, Ukraine, and now her support for Edward Snowden. Sen. Collins has also directly expressed concern over Tulsi's support for Snowden.

Absolutely ludicrous to confirm a Secretary of DEFENSE with bipartisan opposition via a tiebreaker.

NEW: Five current and former senior European officials briefed on the call said Trump’s phone conversation with Denmark’s PM Mette Frederiksen about his intent to take over Greenland had gone “very badly,” the Financial Times reports. “It was horrendous,” said one of the people. Another added: “He was very firm. It was a cold shower. Before, it was hard to take it seriously. But I do think it is serious, and potentially very dangerous.” Thanks to Trump, our friends and allies can not trust the United States anymore. China and Russia couldn't be happier

END/CIA is also apparently banning lanyards that have to do with affinity groups. Women's Council had to take down website & cancel all events, incl women's history month. They are also compiling lists of members within affinity groups. Because that's not reminiscent of 1930s.

Schiff: If the president goes forward with pardoning vast numbers of people involved in January 6 violence, he will begin his new administration the way he ended his last administration, and that is by celebrating violence against our democracy.

NEW: DOJ still charging new Jan. 6 cases, but sources say Trump's election already upended ongoing effort to hold rioters accountable. Plea talks frozen. Misdemeanor cases deprioritized. Morale low. Source said it's like "deck chairs on the Titanic" --> cnn.com/2025/01/05/pol…

@LittleMammith This 1 worker who drives in from Westchester will have to pay $9 more on top of the $30/day they already pay in commuting costs, but the other 47 workers at her restaurant will have better subway service, and lower congestion/time costs if they drive, so will be much better off.

Every progressive policy is going to inevitably make some person worse off - even if it's just a person you made up who you assume exists somewhere - so having this "no one can ever be harmed" standard just means you never do anything to improve the world, ever.
(Formerly) Brooklyn Mom@graciefacelove

If you’re say a nurse or waitress, get off work after midnight in Manhattan and there are no more trains or busses to your home town - how do you commute to work? Oh yes, you drive. Sorry you just got a $2,000 a year salary deduction, losers! Congestion pricing for the win!

On the morning of Jan. 6, 2021, Trump allies were still scrambling to get fake elector documents from WI & MI to Vice President Pence. House Republicans last week released new video from Jan. 6 which includes Sen. Ron Johnson R-WI carrying those fake elector documents. 🧵

Trump & his minions can lie as much as they want, but they have never managed to refute any of our work. No one can rewrite history or erase his responsibility for the deadly violence that occurred on J6. We have always stood by the truth, & we will continue to uphold it.

Trump's complaint about flags flying at half staff recalls how he resisted lowering the flag when McCain died. As we reported in "The Divider," his chief of staff John Kelly told him if he didn't, "when you die the public will come to your grave and piss on it." @sbg1
