@jillu_offl Even now BJP has formed govt without any TN MPs support in the parliament. Even in the past Congress has been able to do that. It's a scenario that can be applied to any party or any state. That's how parliamentary representative democracy works.

@sivam_bird @poopoonga Having proportional representation is the basic idea of democracy. Each man's vote should have the same value. Doesn't matter Hindu, Muslim. Sikh, UC, Dalit, North, South etc.

@jillu_offl BJP is definitely gonna gain more vote share and win a few seats this time. They are growing organically there and didn't want to spoil the mood. They just don't bother about TN and would indirectly want to weaken ADMK by bowling a low full toss just a week before the elections.

@realitycheckind @politicorrect00 @Akshita_N Calling her maami, paappaathi & abusing her has been happening for sometime now & frequently too. When the slur, abuse is identity based, she must either say she is not a Brahmin or OPENLY condemn D stock perverted attitude towards Brahmin women. Check: x.com/IR_MusicGod/st…

Well it isnt a "stupid narrative" it is THE ruling ideology that makes Modi cede territory of TN. Vellore Saravanan with DMK colors is teasing Askhita as "Brahmin mami"+"nool with misspelling to evade automated filters" laughs it off as 'stupid' maybe she isnt a Brahmin Mami?

Stupid narrative doing the rounds- first speaking in Tamil isn’t an insult! Secondly, I met Dr Gokilamani the previous night and we conversed in Tamil so I assumed she would be more comfortable in Tamil

@vandavaalam_ Not even TN's southern neighbours are gonna oppose this because it's going to be beneficial for them. Anyways in any country the value of one vote per person has to be uniform. It can't be disproportionate for different states.

@vandavaalam_ Even southern states like KA and TG have had less proportionate representation compared to TN and KL. KA has only around 40-50 lakh lesser population than TN but has only 28 seats compared to 39 of TN. Kerala with half of KA population has 20 seats.

@SecondShowTamil Genuine case. Currently states like KA, TG, MP, BH etc have way too less seats proportionate to their population. What if they started pointing fingers at TN or KL for enjoying far more seats proportionate to the population and thus enjoying more power all these years.

@PrasannaAK10 @SecondShowTamil That post has so many flaws. The total number of proposed seats is 815+35=850. So the majority required is 426. In case of proportional representation based on the existing ration nothing much changes. x.com/politicorrect0…
Politically Incorrect@politicorrect00

@vaniarun18 Also by the logic in the tweet even after 50% increase for each states, the combined seats of UP(120)+BH(60)+MP(45) would be only 225 almost 200 seats less than the majority. This is same scenario as today. Where is the change in the proportional representation?

@SecondShowTamil I disagree on the point of the majority. Current majority is 272 out of which UP has 80 seats (29.41%) and TN has 39 seats (14.34%). If the total seats are 815, the majority will be 409. UP will have 120(29.34%) and TN will have 59(14.42%). Enlighten me if I am wrong.

@IR_MusicGod The statements like "DMK is the precursor to BJP in the south when it comes to social engineering" by Nitin Gadkari and "RSS is an social organisation like DK" from MK aren't accidental or tactical. It comes from the deeply rooted understanding of each other.

@IR_MusicGod I have a deeper theory for this. BJP and DMK aren't different at their core. The top level leadership of both the party/movment have an affection for each other. It was evident from the Jan Sangh days in the 70s. Both thrive on majority Hindu consolidation by polarization.

It should also be noted that the BJP waited till the Kerala elections got over but didn't bother about the TN elections. Says a lot about who is tacit understanding with whom. BJP and DMK both needs each other for their sustenance.
Pooja Prasanna@PoojaPrasanna4

When 2 southern states. Tamil Nadu & Kerala, are in the middle of elections, what was the need to rush the constitutional amendment for delimitation? For years now, Modi govt did not give clarity on how delimitation will happen and now will be rushed in a special session.
