“We’re making a movie, not hundreds of millions of dollars of therapy”. If this is actually what Pete said and not taken out of context, then my guy couldn’t you deconstruct Up in a similar derogatory fashion? That doesn’t make any sense.

@justgoodnotgr8 @Vrahno Not even storytelling similarities but some of the editing in MOL is reminiscent of choices done in Fellowship of the Ring. They knew what they were doing.

@Vrahno Is there anything that talks about Mask of Light taking inspiration from Lordnof the Rings? I saw the LOTR trilogy for the first time a few years ago and it clicked on many parallels there are to Mask of Light, down to Takua giving Elijah Wood vibes.

I'll go over my remarks on the Bionicle films gradually. 2003's Bionicle: Mask of Light is the first feature length Lego movie. It was announced in late 2001, around the big October shakeup of the franchise, following the cancellation of The Legend of Mata Nui video game.

Phenomenal dark comedy, grossly underrated. Maybe Nic Cage’s best performance in my book, such a magic act. Weather Man is absolutely worth your time if you haven’t seen it before. One of Verbinski’s best.

I rewatched THE WEATHER MAN last night. Gore Verbinski directs the hell out of this quirky, reserved character piece that features one of Nic Cage’s most restrained performances. I know this phrase gets thrown around a lot, but they really don’t make movies like this anymore.
