La Diva Plavalaguna dans Le Cinquième Élément (1997) de Luc Besson. Le compositeur Éric Serra a volontairement écrit des passages que le corps humain n'est pas censé pouvoir enchaîner physiquement (notamment les sauts de notes très rapides dans la seconde partie, plus "électronique", de l'air). Inva Mula a dû enregistrer les notes séparément, et Éric Serra les a ensuite assemblées numériquement pour créer cette tessiture surhumaine qui souligne la nature extraterrestre du personnage. Si la voix est celle d'Inva Mula, c'est l'actrice et réalisatrice Maïwenn (qui était la compagne de Luc Besson à l'époque) qui incarne la Diva à l'écran. ​Elle a dû porter un costume et une prothèse de tête extrêmement lourds. ​Pour se préparer, elle a dû apprendre les mouvements de bouche et de corps d'une chanteuse d'opéra pour que la synchronisation soit parfaite, malgré la complexité du morceau. ​Dans l'extrait, on voit Bruce Willis regarder la Diva avec un mélange d'étonnement et d'admiration. ​C’était la première fois que Bruce Willis voyait Maïwenn dans son costume complet de Diva. Luc Besson avait délibérément empêché les acteurs de la voir avant le tournage de la scène pour obtenir une réaction d'émerveillement la plus naturelle possible. Le morceau (souvent appelé The Diva Dance) est devenu un défi culte pour les chanteurs du monde entier. Avec l'évolution des techniques vocales, plusieurs artistes (comme Jane Zhang) ont réussi l'exploit de chanter la partie "impossible" en direct, sans aide numérique, prouvant que ce que Serra pensait infaisable en 1997 est devenu un sommet de prouesse vocale aujourd'hui.
