Meta has committed $21B to CoreWeave and up to $27B to Nebius for outside capacity. It is now reportedly in early talks to lease compute to Anthropic in a deal that could reach $10B over roughly two years. No agreement has been signed, and the reported ceiling could change. Meta could compete with Claude through Llama while charging Anthropic for the machines behind Claude. If Claude runs on Meta capacity, Meta gets paid even when Llama loses.
