Our preprint on symbiotic Rickettsia is now live! We explore the huge genomic diversity of neglected rickettsia and megaira species, assembling 28 new genomes, and exploring their hugely diverse phylogenomics and metabolic potential. biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh…

Thrilled to share preprint of @MissHoneyMee ‘s work examining how social structure determines immune gene evolution in the bees. Because hosts’ and pathogens’ interests are opposed (by definition) we expect genes that dictate response to infection to evolve quickly. 1/n

Very interesting study, definitely worth a read!
