I built a pool calculator because I got tired of: • conflicting advice • pool store upsells • wrong chemical amounts -- you're supposed to weigh non-liquids -- did you know that? I’ll share everything I've learned about keeping water clear without wasting money and saving time.

@U3uuu @RealXavier011 Seems like a lot of chemicals, just don’t let it get that bad. They’re consumed by the algae anyway. End up as Salt and Water and different gasses that off-gas and leave.

@RealXavier011 If waters cheap can def just drain but that green-to-clear turnaround is so satisfying! Brushing + shocking + vacuuming to waste really does the trick. The secret to keeping it clear: get your chlorine level perfectly matched to your CYA so algae never comes back.

Last summer I called EVERY single pool company on the first and second page of Google’s search engine results and NOT ONE was accepting new pool cleaning routes. The company I use charges $225/hour for pool cleaning. Sends me a bill every month with little to no detail of what they do, and I pay it because there is no alternative. I practically had to beg them to do a tile repair… $32,000 Opportunity is all around us for high quality service providers.

If your pool guy comes on a Monday, by Thursday your pool water is way off. Only balanced water is clean thus you need to test 2-3 times a week using a Taylor test kit. Once you become an expert at balancing your water which is easy then you start adding borax which is the ultimate pool hack, it's like swimming in the clouds, you'll never go back and anyone who comes over will immediately ask why your water is so baller.

what really did it though was when @spadepot stopped selling their paper log book. I loved that thing. Now Pool Dad saves my logs digitally.
