@popfizzslurp My problems were wear and tear. Bits of cartilage swimming round the knee joints. Each op he ground à bit more off. I’ve gone the opposite with the shoes. Moved from Nike free to the modern ones. Helped enormously.

6 years ago I was told by my knee surgeon I would never run again and then by the heart surgeon that gentle exercise was my best bet but I had to forget racing. And here I am. Ranked 7th in the UK 5km rankings. And I haven’t started any proper training yet. 💪🏃‍♂️🍾🥂

@Chablislodge I’ve had one round of that in one knee but just getting back on to the road after a double meniscus tear. Not keen on doing the op again. Like you - don’t like swimming. Trying a shift to zero drop shoes to see if that takes some of the strain off the knees.

Random question I was just asked and didn't have the answer to. Do any wineries have their own plots of forest for oak production? I know of wineries that have their own cooperages, but I haven't heard of any with a stake in, or their own, forest.

@TheHH06 Think I’ve stripped every tastebud off my tongue with a flat white this morning. This may be a sweeping generalisation but from my time working in hospitality it was always Scottish people who asked for an extra hot latte. Must be where the warmth of their personality comes from
