I don't think the "Mandatory Grok AI farming on X" thing was a lie, but rather a "Schroedinger's asshole" kind of thing. The site is always trying to push the boundaries of what people will accept as of late. It's obvious it would've been the straw that broke the camel's back.

I learned a few things when I very first moved to Appalachia.. almost two years ago. At dusk and especially at night, don’t whistle not even in the house.. ever!! At dusk and especially at night don’t answer when someone calls your name in the woods.. don’t even look in the trees.. ever!! and if all sounds of nature stop, look at the ground and walk away. Get in the house and don’t answer the door.. I learned last night why you’re not supposed to do this stuff… it’s cuz “They will come” Honestly I don’t even want to know who “they” are And I’m NOT bout to do any of it to find out who “they” fucking are.. Nope. Not going to chance it.
