One would expect government institutions to lead efforts to strengthen and expand the grid so that other establishments, and ultimately, citizens can benefit. If those in authority disconnect themselves from the system, who then will connect the ordinary Nigerian to reliable power? Promoting renewable energy, as solar systems do, is commendable and necessary for the future. However, this situation reflects a deeper concern: governance lacking compassion and commitment to the governed. You cannot tell the people to fast while feasting yourself, securing yourself while Nigerians remain unsecured. Nigerians do not expect 100% fulfilment of promises, but they do expect 100% effort, accompanied by measurable improvements and clear explanations when gaps exist. Leadership must serve the people, not isolate itself from their daily struggles. -PO

So light has now been restored at the Uwani General Hospital Enugu. Water also restored. The Enugu State government just said this morning that they will start full renovation work there next week. 8 other hospitals have now been marked for renovation. God bless Joy Ezeugwu!

We have bailed Joy Ezeugwu. She was arrested 7:35am this morning and got to the station at 8:20am. We got to the Force Headquarters Annex at 9am. We didn’t leave until now that we completed the bail process. AfiaTv team, Uche, Barrister Kene Nnadi and two other lawyers were there to ensure she was out. Joy can never walk alone. We will take up Ifeyinwa Peace Okwudo up immediately. We will deploy every legal means. We will offer Joy Ezeugwu all the support and will always be by her side. Any student who is bold enough speak up against evil in their schools will always have our support. We will build an army of lawyers that will be ever ready to fight for justice. We will dismantle injustice and impunities in our institutions.

We are currently at Police Force Headquarters Annex (FCID), Enugu. Joy Ezeugwu is currently writing a statement responding to claims made by Ifeyinwa Peace Okwudu in her petition. Ifeyinwa is doing everything to destroy Joy but it will fail. She is demanding N10 million for emotional and psychological damage from Joy Ezeugwu. Ifeyinwa Peace Okwudu is such a tyrant and must be dealt with. Oppressing students and staff has become a norm in our institutions and we must dismantle it.
