Seabourn Ovation arrived into Cork Harbour last Tuesday morning for her scheduled call to Cobh Cruise Terminal, berthing at 07:00 under calm conditions. Our pilotage and towage teams supported a smooth inbound passage as the vessel began her day alongside. Her visit marked the first of 18 cruise calls scheduled across Cork Harbour this May, as the 2026 season continues to build strong momentum. Each arrival brings valuable economic activity to local businesses, attractions and communities throughout the region. #CruiseCork #HarbourOperations #Cobh #TourismInCork

Today on Europe Day, we’re proud to highlight the Port of Cork’s role within Europe and the impact of European partnership on our long‑term development. Our port recently featured in the @eurireland campaign “Europe’s Budget: The Power of Together”, which showcases how €38.4 million in Connecting Europe Facility funding has supported the development of modern, purpose‑built facilities at Ringaskiddy. This investment has enabled the completion of a world‑class container terminal capable of handling the largest vessels calling to any Irish port, strengthening Cork’s position as a key gateway for national and international trade. The campaign also stars Tadhg O’Keeffe, Senior Port Engineer, whose story reflects the real local impact of EU investment, supporting skilled jobs, enabling sustainable growth, advancing offshore renewable energy infrastructure and helping build stronger, more resilient communities.

The Port of Cork has officially launched its first-ever direct transatlantic container service to New York with CMA CGM. The inaugural sailing departed Cork yesterday, as the MV CMA CGM LOUGA set sail on the new weekly Panama Direct service, linking Cork directly with key US East Coast ports including New York and Savannah. This new service delivers faster transit times with approximately 9 days to New York and 11 days to Savannah, while removing the need for feeder connections through European hub ports. The partnership marks a milestone for the Port of Cork, strengthening Ireland’s global supply chain connectivity, supporting exporters and importers, and enhancing transatlantic trade opportunities. #KeepingCorkConnected #Trade #Shipping

We were delighted to welcome @cynimhurchu to the Cork Container Terminal in Ringaskiddy yesterday. During her visit, Cynthia was given a tour of our port facilities by Board Director Dr. Celine McInerney and Tim Murphy, Head of Port Engineering. Highlights included a trip up one of our cranes to take in the full scale of the terminal and the stunning views of Cork Harbour. Cynthia also received a briefing on the Port of Cork’s strategic development plans, with a focus on strengthening trade connectivity with Europe and beyond, as well as our ambitions in renewable energy. As a designated Core Port under the EU’s Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), the Port of Cork plays a vital role as a gateway to international trade, supporting economic growth both regionally and nationally. #KeepingCorkConnected

The Zhong Ren completed her inbound passage past Cobh last month as part of scheduled operations to collect cranes from the Port of Cork. The vessel’s arrival was clearly visible along the waterfront, with favourable weather conditions providing an unobstructed view as she proceeded upriver to commence loading activity. Movements of this scale reflect the Port’s ongoing role in supporting national and international logistics, ensuring critical equipment and infrastructure continue to move efficiently through Cork Harbour. #HarbourOperations 📸Tony Mulcahy
