a recent article in the NY Times noted that many people, especially women, are fantasizing about leaving the US to live in a more civilized country, especially one without a gun problem. Ireland is frequently named. but where else? university colleagues who know Spain well may move there if things worsen here, but under the best of circumstances (affluence, education) making a move to another country is not easy. (Canada, for instance, is not at all easy to get into.) what do others suggest? serious fantasies only. (my own choice would be Ireland partly since I am "half" Irish on my father' side; also, have loved every visit to Ireland, ever. plus, Irish literature! plus, Irish countryside. plus, Dublin!)
