@paulleseman I’m a serial inventor and social entrepreneur with no capital. I would use the $20K to begin to develop my dream for an Emotions University in every city and an Emotions Curriculum in every school to help stop the epidemic of teen suicide in the U.S. using emotional intelligence
@laurahelmuth Story Tip: Smart Diapers are being introduced by Procter & Gamble this summer with horrible effects for children, the environment, and parents that ignores parenting science and medical doctors. Please help. See my LinkedIn messages.
@AlfredLubrano Great article on diaper need! Another angle is to reduce the need for diapers through child-friendly, parent-led potty training that prepares kids at age 18 months so they know what to expect, per leading pediatrician Barton Schmitt and Illinois’ Dr. Shelly Mann.
@EmilyThorntonTV P.S. Pediatrician Dr. Shelly Mann of Illinois is my business partner. We are college friends who together developed Potty Duck (pottyduck.com). I am a stay-at-home dad from South Bend, Indiana.
@EmilyThorntonTV Hi Emily, Did you know potty training in the U.S. has been very influenced by the diaper industry in 1961 and 1999, pushing up sales of disposables via later training & overlooking American Academy of Pediatrics’ leader Schmitt, science and the rest of the world?
@EmilyThorntonTV Potty training #1 mistake according to pediatricians is failing to prepare children for it, like we do for everything else (training wheels for bike-riding, read-alouds for reading, etc). See Dr. Barton Schmitts article in Contemporary Pediatrics Journal, 2004.
