4/ I just want to get better. That may take 1 year, 10 years, 50 years. I’m back on earth and ready to practice. Ready to study. I’m holding off on the sale of my own work for a little while (shit maybe a long while) but I’m still here and watching. Stay warm this winter.

3/ nightmare friends wasn’t “good” enough. If anything it was a draft. To me it felt like months of work, but the output doesn’t lie. My craft needs work. I get lost in capitalism sometimes. Re: productivity, purpose as financial, and money as the means to give back. Shortsighted

(🧵) 1/4 Been on a humble train lately. I’m not an artist by trade, but can make some cool things. Over the last two months I’ve been diligently studying the greats and their works. I’m humbled. I’m humbled by the amount of time, practice, and energy required everyday.

I can’t stop being sad. I keep thinking of each kids face. what they probably debated on the bus to school. What games they’d endlessly play over the summer. The sports league theyd play in. The faint smell of sunblock and sweat from playing outside for hour. and now it’s nothing

@poundcakeNFT 100%. I want to be clear. I support Betty’s stance. But I’ve also heard a lot of criticism from artists on how collectors price work on the secondary. That seems like a bit of a double standard.

Honest question: What are the reverse expectations? If I buy art from a 1/1 artist (or project!) do they have any right to tell me how its held, enjoyed or sold?

Collectors: if you buy a piece from an artist, you have bought a piece of art. You haven’t bought the right to comment, criticise, or impose any sort of anything on that artist. You bought art. You do not ‘own’ the artist and you literally have no right to dictate what they do.
