Remember, we are still in Pre-Alpha & this will be our first playable release of #E2V1, probably our biggest software release to date! We are still a few days away on the build, just fixing a few known bugs, mainly bugs around the new inventory system, specifically regarding management between the Discovery Box & the Inventory. The article explains the purpose behind testing, so our expectation is for #Players to stay close to their properties to test a few things out because you will be prone to dying easily the further you stray, especially if you don't have a natural water supply close by & food to forage & sustain you. I guess some might be up for the challenge to see how far they can go but that is not our expectation for this initial #RealityThread release! Flashback on some of the custom Limited Edition collectible #skins created by #Earth2🌎✌️ 🔥 Most of these drops sold out & will only ever be available again on a #P2P secondary market. Congrats to those who own some of these & I can't wait to see how #Players customise some of their skins inside #E2V1 when that feature comes online in the future. I don't believe the #Metaverse should be confined to a single genre, aesthetic or style & that has been an intentional approach from the start. It’s more of a platform that, at its core, will (at least initially) be shaped by diverse elements of the internet, including various aspects of gaming, which will serve as the framework for establishing foundational rules for life, engagement & interactivity within this emerging world - something that will become apparent with the early mechanics inside #E2V1. While the #LimitedEdition #skin drops will slow down after the remaining sets are cleared, we will continue expanding into new genres & styles by way of more traditional unlimited, time-based drops, continuing to empower our #Players to shape & define their identity as part of the deeper immersion within #Earth2 & possibly branching off into role playing, which I see as becoming part of experiences over time. Also, an important note that when skin customisation is available it will come with risk & reward, so the #Player will need to decide on whether to customise a skin or not, as when a skin is customised, it will not be revertible back to its original state. This means the rarity of the original authentic version of the skin can potentially increase the more times that specific skin is customised by other #Players, the flip side being that a well customised skin could literally become 1 of a kind. #Earth2 #E2V1 #Metaverse #Custom #LimitedEdition #Skins

🚨#Earth2 update 🌏✌️ First I'd like to apologise to our community for the lateness of this message. I was still considering a traditional last timezone #Q2 release but honestly we could use a little more time. As you can see in the screen recording, we've been extremely busy the past 3 months with multiple commits per day on average from our dev team & this recording is only of commits made directly to our #E2V1 repository. It does not include #BE / Server repository commits or tasks completed for custom development from our VFX, SFX, Concept Art & Animation teams or the countless other points of progressive development. While there are some in our community who would better understand what multiple daily repo commits means, the video footage just helps others to visualise how much work goes into the development of just one facet of Earth 2, and even though we may not publish a lot of public updates, we are extremely busy & focused on development & progress behind the scenes. Sometimes you lose track of time with so many different developments in progress. Excitingly for everyone, Chapter 1 is a very big release for us & includes some very important updates that will introduce the foundations for activity & experiences inside #E2V1. There are many moving parts & many new mechanisms we've had to design, develop & implement into an incredibly large, seamless, open world just to make Chapter 1 possible. We're also building a persistent world, meaning we're not just developing for a single player local PC environment, which would be much, much easier, but instead requires a lot of API & server integration for almost every feature implemented - and that doesn't even involve the multiplayer networking element which we've also made good progress on throughout #Q2. We're not implementing API & server integration only for a persistent world, but also to mitigate against hacking. I just wanted to provide this update & apologise for the lateness of this notification. Remember, we are still in a pre-alpha stage so there are inevitably going to be bugs & issues. Seeing as though we are going to miss #Q2 anyway, we could use another week or two to fix some known bugs & make it a little smoother. It won't be longer than that & even though it's not a lot of additional time in the big picture, I still said #Q2 & I apologise that we are going to overshoot that time frame. We will aim to publish an article this weekend to provide everyone with an in depth explanation behind the early access release & I think that article will help our community understand just how much work has gone into the past 3 months by our team. I guess I could have made this post short & sweet but I wanted to provide additional context so thanks for reading through. To end on a more positive note, hands on play testing has been very eye opening to possibilities & immersion #E2V1 offers. There are so many opportunities waiting & so many directions to take .. it really is very exciting. Don't miss the final #LimitedEdition character skin drop leading up to the #Earth2 early access #Chapter1 release! A community design submitted skin (congratulations @MegaFrontman!) which our talented team modeled to life in 3D, ready for use in the #Metaverse 🌎✌️ These #LimitedEdition character skin drops are all we've released to date, so people have gotten used to them, but just a reminder that in the future any new #LimitedEdition character drops will be a lot fewer & farther between once #E2V1 is live, reserved mainly for very special events or collaborations. We want all #LimitedEdition drops to be become more rare & sort after as the platform grows. As mentioned in the past, we will move to a more traditional style system releasing character skins with unlimited editions that are only available for limited times throughout each year. There are a few other important points we'd like to share before the first variation drops: 1⃣ For this drop $ESS skin options will be based on a fixed $0.06 $ESS value. 2⃣ As mentioned in the past, any #LimitedEdition skin drops that don't sell out could be released again in the future until they sell out, but only after the #P2P skin trading store is live. 3⃣ #LimitedEdition skins that have not sold out & are released again will be at least double their original release sale price, sometimes more depending on which skin it is. So it's ok if skins don't sell out, they're just something available for early supporters. 4⃣ The last remaining Luna skin, not yet released, will be released at a future date, which could be any time. 5⃣ We know we still need to release the Cybercore-X weapons. 6⃣ There might be a one or two surprise drops throughout this final #LimitedEdition release 7⃣ How freaking cool is this Cheok Jun-Gyeong #skin! The Korean community requested it and #Earth2 delivered! Over 67M $ESS actively staked on #Earth2! 🌏✌Above all its a great sign of the wider community demonstrating long term belief in the platform! Check the article for key details & how to stake: 📰earth2.io/news/mentar-st… To put this into perspective, it would currently take a single #T1 tile over 50M years to mine 67M $ESS, a #T2 tile over 150M years. Currently a single base #T1 tile takes around 277 days to mine a single $ESS, a single base #T2 around 833 days - and this is with daily logins to claim and transform! Keep in mind these figures are only relevant before the first halving event which will more or less double all duration above making it longer to mine each single $ESS. We had a big backlog to get through from easier days in the past, but at some point I believe this reality will catch up.. and on top of that we're lingering on the dawn of #E2V1. It's inspiring to see so much #land & $ESS locked up, even for the short term rewards & incoming #Earth2Hordes minigame. Seeing the long-term belief & support #Players have for not only for the platform, but also increasing the #Utility of their land is really driving. When we have #Chapter1 live, which will include the entire life system, exploring, crafting, surviving plus the early teleportation system (specific details of that system to be released, and then #Earth2Hordes Q3.. the foundations really start to take shape. I am not sure people realise who much just these 3 systems will bring into #E2V1, and they are literally only the beginning! It also importantly increases potential rewards & utility for #Players holding their land & farming E-ther, especially higher tier & classes, an approach I recently reaffirmed I wanted to ensure we pursue while designing a number of the upcoming features. This feature release represents one big part of our Q2 2025 #E2V1 version update, but not the only part. The second release scheduled for Q2 will be the initial Mentar teleportation system, another huge foundation being set inside #E2V1. There will be another incoming article covering details of that system including #EPLs, teleportation, perks for T1 & high class land & some other surprises! A quick note, for #Players who have upgraded their land & secured one of the first 125K T1S tiles for each energy type, the T1S (T1 Special) class supersedes any sub-class you may receive. So if you upgrade and you see Class 2 for example, but your land has the T1S icon mark, it is treated as T1S before Class 2. As promised, the article released today highlights the depth of the #E2V1 avatar release, as mentioned in my post earlier this week. It also highlights the multiple systems we are working on for this release in order to provide our #Players with some activities to do short term inside our evolving digital world! It should self explain why things are taking a little longer than first anticipated & how this is no longer a simple #avatar spawn & do nothing update. I am very excited about these updates rolling out & am extremely keen to get this public! I also want to thank our testers who are on standby to begin playing with these updates as they become available this quarter! On a closing note, I know the Free to Play model will receive some discussion & I am sure there will be varying opinions. I wanted to approach it in a unique way that fits in with our #EcoSim & the ideology I've had for #Earth2 from day 1. Not other does this design take an alternative approach to the promise of loot discovered on a #property being split with the owner but also allows the land owner to request exactly what they are looking for in return for providing life to a free to play #Player. I think it's a pretty cool concept, say I might want some health potions for my upcoming #Hordes game (or something else) this weekend, so I'm happy to provide a free to play #Player with some E-ther to get their own character going in return for some potions. Or maybe I want them to capture something for me, or find a specific material. There will be an insane amount of different quests landowners can set over time which I find really exciting. In fact this design approach I've taken is possibly better than the property based loot split as it is not limited to land owned by the #Player providing the E-ther for the quest, which came from the land they own. We have already implemented a number of the systems set for release this quarter and have been testing them behind closed doors inside #E2V1, but there are some more refinements and additions to make. Chapter 1 Pre-Alpha "Explore. Craft. Survive." will be dropping this quarter welcoming the very first inhabitants to #E2V1 & introduce early mechanics that will form the foundation of life inside #Earth2🌍✌️ youtu.be/-h0YIYp6POA<-👍💬💪 Read below for important details: This update is no longer a simple avatar release but a significant update to the entire foundation of the #E2V1 world. When I first talked about dropping avatars I was eager to keep things moving and referred to a very simple system to test skins and movement, then to subsequently implement the full version after that. While this approach would have brought new content out quickly, it could have turned into weeks of extra development time with little upside for the wider community, apart from testing the movement and appearance of the avatars, there would have been little else to do until another subsequent update. Therefore I made the decision to focus solely on implementing the core part of the full system we plan to use long term on the platform. I apologise that this release will take a little longer than originally anticipated, having moved away from the initial lower spec'd plan, but I'd like to get this right & ready for a wider audience to start using and enjoying. As much as I'd love to push out updates faster, I will be taking this approach to #E2V1 development in the future as well. The plan will still be to release to our testing group first after our internal QA, test and then stabilise. If all looks good and we're happy with how everything is performing, we will push forward with a public release. There will inevitably be ongoing adjustments, additions and tweaks to these type of systems over time. It may seem like a long time, but #E2V1 was only released to our testing group 7 weeks ago! How crazy is that? I know for me it feels like many months already. Nonetheless, during this short period of time we have not only released a couple of updated versions, and an updated version to the Earth 2 Launcher, but the team has also been working incredibly hard on the #E2V1 and #BE mechanics for the Chapter 1 systems - and there is a lot involved in this upcoming release. We will be dropping an article later this week, which I believe will help our community understand the extensive list of features planned for this release and in turn explain why it is taking a little longer. I'd rather not spoil all of the details, but the article contains a lot of information about the various systems we're developing including rules of life, avatar synthesisation, death, saving, skins, day/night cycles, free to play model, avatar vitals, how land ownership fits in with all of this and much more. It is important to keep in mind that each of these systems needed to be designed and implemented, which takes time. The article will also begin to reveal some of the design plans I have been working on to increase utility for T1 land, which will also include various T1 classes. I also intend to follow through and expand utility on T1 land into other upcoming mechanics on the platform, some of which will be revealed in a separate article in the near future and are also part of the Chapter 1 release. Ideally, all going well, we will be testing early multiplayer at some stage this quarter and as mentioned earlier this year #Hordes in Q3, #EggHunt in Q4 & maybe some early buildings on properties. In addition to these goals, we have a couple of wild card features floating around in between as well. I know I reiterate it from time to time, but the long term goal for #Earth2 has not changed. We are building a #geolocational #metaverse - a platform! We still want #Players building cities, providing more individualised experiences, advertising, trading, shopping, e-commerce, socialising and so forth. And I still have plans to link #E2V1 into #AR and support #VR, but we cannot do all of this at once. I am also looking at ways we can expand the team and setup a studio, probably in East Asia, to speed up development. The current features we're focusing on plan to expand utility for land on a wide scale & introduce various experiences inside #E2V1, providing potential benefits for land owners & #Players alike on a broader level, while at the same time allowing our team to introduce mechanics that will be used throughout the future of the platform, test limitations and work our way around challenges as they arise. I was wondering when someone would discover this. Nice find @E2Obsidian! I wanted to leave these in #E2V1 to show the corresponding locations where we tested the #Megacity, building outposts & terraforming 🌍✌️ The footage in previous showcase videos was not pre-rendered, it was all recorded real time in our engine & @E2Obsidian has discovered the corresponding locations inside #E2V1 to validate this! Be sure to check his whole thread to see the other locations he found which correspond to the same locations from our previous showcase videos! We have a few features & updates rolling out before we get into the building phase, but it really is going to be epic when #Players start building outposts, then towns, then cities and then megacities inside #Earth2 in the future! Also just to be transparent, we have a little feature creep on the #Avatar release. I want to include some of the smaller follow up scheduled updates we had for after the #Avatar release so #Players have a few things to do as we work toward some of the bigger releases.
