@LavanyaSunder Have there ever been consumer subsidies for regular bikes - pedal powered? That's something we'd like to add to this overall conversation To policy makers: don't forget about old school bicycles

To conclude - I don't actually think EV subsidies are bad for the environment-this math is just illustrative But I do hope this prompts discussion around how we need to spend MUCH more time talking about incentivizing the real green decision: Replacing a car with an ebike

I caught up with a friend who moved to Manhattan Beach I asked if he was going to buy an ebike & he said: "No, instead I used the EV subsidy to get a brand new car!" Which led me to the thought exercise: Are EV subsidies bad for the environment? 🤔 My math says possibly...👇
