Tech types largely don't get this. So they run into issues. Some of the best HRs I saw were in gaming companies and tech.
And were great at working with legal at handling the misconduct techbros get themselves into.

Three areas to befriend:
- Finance / Accounting
- HR
- Operations staff
They know a lot of the dirt. But also can be good shields if they like you. Large reason why HR talks to everyone. They're info brokers.

They're also scheming in between. But that's what the talking, playing, and having fun is. It's getting face time and tracing tue org chart.
Politics is about that facetime. Then leaving a good impression.

No, actually the opposite. There's only one other nation capable of anything similar.
The US and China are the only ones capable of building and funding platform level data and AI strategy. And looping others into their digital ecosystem.

And having HR, ops, and finance on your side it's how you secure yourself politically in csuite.

I’ve seen this happen where the patent company that did an M&A used these surveys to push out the executives in the acquired company.

A lot of people do not know the political power HR can wield from confidential survey data or employee intakes. Or how much HR data analytics sections can use that as political bargaining chips.

@blackwindmnt2 It wont. And AI largely its an infrastructure problem that needs to be fixed. And China is in a better position than the US. Even then theres quite a long road there too.

AI won't reach AGI this decade let alone be efficient enough to side step a proper educational pipeline that graduates millions upon millions of stem grads.

You need data literacy and technology literacy. And I don't find a lot of people have that.

I know AI is the hype and grift. But did people forget about their country's educational infrastructure.
Just show people like dwarkesh how many stem grads china produces each year. That's the real gap the west should talk about.

Worked with people analytics data. If you have a devious Chief HR Ops head who's data driven, you can bet 7/10 times they are doing that.
The most devious ones play power brokers. Or do a lot of king making. So you have to be careful.
