It’s amazing how being a man Bhaskar da’s character understood patriarchy, but most women didn’t..Piku is a movie that will stay with me forever 💫 @SrBachchan

But with time, I have started to see him in a different light... I now see what a fiercely protective father he was. He challenged the idea that a woman’s life is only complete through marriage and family. In my 20s, I’ve started to notice how much pressure women face to settle down, often leading them to make rushed choices and this is a generational thinking, passed down on us for 100s of years.. In his own unconventional way, he was trying to shield Piku from that…what an amazing movie- “Piku” ❤️

As I grow older, I understand Bhaskar da’s character more deeply. I was still in school when Piku was released in theatres, and back then I saw him as a reckless, opinionated man someone who rejected societal norms just to appear intellectual…I dare say “pseudo feminist” 🙈
