Last semester in TOC, a friend asked me: “Why are we even studying this if we never use it?”
I had no real answer, I said “it’s in the syllabus.”
Fast forward to now, I’ve started building my own interpreter using Crafting Interpreters… and suddenly, it all makes sense.
Finished building a Scanner (Lexer) in Java using Crafting Interpreters.
Breaking code into tokens gave me a whole new perspective on how programming languages actually work.
This is getting interesting.
