Used to be a regular public transport commuter in Sri Lanka 20 years ago, stepped back on a bus today. Absolutely nothing has changed. Still the same overcrowded and outdated buses, cash-only tickets, and loud music that can even wake up the dead. Consistency is key, I guess!

@stealyoredbull WIFI and smart phones didnt exist. People still spoke face to face. The world was a bigger more mysterious place. Little did we know how the world was about to change. I was a backpacker. And in my early 20s. So bittersweet to think about now.

Life was better when there was a ‘computer room.’ Where you had to physically enter the room to get on the internet and then log off and leave that room and the internet stayed behind. The minute we were able to take it with us in our pockets that’s when society collapsed fully

@DocPriyamMD Can the "Dr. Monica" situation have something to do with the fact that Dr. Monica is a woman and has to deal with people doubting her credentials all the time? Yes, PhD in pottery is not an MD in cardiology, but is still a very significant academic achievement.

Here is a simple advice, (arrogant) DOCTOR @DocPriyamMD. 99% of medicine discoveries, mechanisms of disease pathogenesis & epidemio research are done by PhDs. (I went to both med school & grad school & trained in an ivy league school). Without us PhD DOCTORS, you are nothing.

Medical Doctors: Hey, I'm the cardiologist keeping you alive, just call me Alex. PhDs: Please refer to me as Dr. Monica, I did my thesis on ancient pottery. Look, I know the word 'Doctor' comes from the Latin docere (to teach). I know academics had the title first and I have full respect for the grind. But why are they always the ones defending the title like their lives depend on it? If someone screams "Is there a doctor on the plane?!" absolutely nobody is looking for a Doctor of Philosophy
