@prairiepas
PAs are highly trained medical professionals that work as generalists in a variety of health care settings. We provide a high level of care that is pt-centered.

And BTW these are the same reasons I decided to be a PA. That and the horizontal mobility between specialty services.

@InduPartha @karynbaum @womeninmedchat It is an interesting situation with 80% of PA students being female and all high achievers. A majority tell me their reason is PA recommended by a MD, no residency, salary positions with benefits, & less committee or meeting time - more time for family. True?

I am very proud of the #UManitoba #RFHS MB_MPAS Class 2018 for (another) perfect pass rate on the Canadian PA Certification Exam.

Very encouraged to see that the Cornwall Community Hospital (@CCHCornwall) is looking at adding physician assistants to the ER during peak times — they are proven to help reduce wait times, improve patient flow + support overstretched doctors: bit.ly/2LKq6qC

If not for a PA who was in the right place at the right time during an Olympic Triathlon in southeastern Pennsylvania, a 51-year-old airline pilot would not be alive today. bit.ly/2LnCA4l

Always check and recheck your patient's medication list. Today? Aleve (afferent constrictor) + lisinopril (efferent dilator) combo in a diabetic pt with climbing BUN/Cr. Seems obvious...only once you see it. Be vigilant! #paschool #cardiology #nephrology #medicine #polypharmacy
