@vxxxks Can telehealth rebuild the trust that Indian hospitals and systemic racism destroyed? It tries to be culturally safe and accessible but can virtual care truly get rid rid of generational trauma

Check this out reddit.com/r/medicine/com… It explores the challenges and resources available, comparing them to the U.S. system and mentions the impact of social determinants of health.

It's true, the results of the study clearly highlight the ineffectiveness of standard maternity care models to reduce the over-representation of Indigenous newborn removals and demonstrate the need for Indigenous-led service design and delivery. #indigenoushealth #maternalcare

Women who receive support through an Indigenous-led model of maternity care are three times less likely to have Indigenous newborn children removed by child protection services, new research has shown. nit.com.au/26-02-2024/996…

#EM203Robin Your ZIP code shouldn’t decide your health. But it does. 🚨 Black infant mortality: 2.5x higher. 💊 Healthcare must change. #CloseTheGap

It took me over a decade to realize I was disabled Internalized ableism is no joke. It can lead us to push our bodies & deny our reality 🧵 about ableism, disability, covid caution and finding your voice We aren’t expendable. Activism is more important now than ever before /1

To doctors, please listen to your patient. Respect their expertise in their bodies. Let them be active participants in their care. If they don’t want a specific treatment, ask them why. You might learn something. Work together, and we will all have better outcomes /end

In my early twenties I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis. My symptoms were debilitating & doctors suggested pregnancy & pushed hormonal treatments that made me worse Every treatment failed & my OBGYN still insisted I do 3 months of the ring before considering surgery 🧵
