@pre1926smiley

It cost nothing to take the time to smile; a smile, "An" universal symbol for positivity and happiness, was born at the dawn of time. ---#18743YearsOfSmiley

@SaveStandard Door number 3 is a Win-Win; let people use daylight to wake up or play after work. without shifting 'noon' by government decree. Keep Standard Time and rethink the workday to let daylight saving time "fans" have the benefit of after work sunlight.

It’s only May, but some lawmakers are already thinking about changing our clocks back in November. If Congress acts quickly enough on a bill praised by President Trump, the clocks may not change at all. wtnh.com/news/national/…

The momentum to finally “ditch the switch” is growing. Last week, the House Energy and Commerce Committee advanced my provision to make Daylight Saving Time permanent year-round, moving this commonsense reform one step closer to becoming law. Americans are tired of the disruptive and outdated twice-yearly clock change, and it’s time Congress acts. Permanent Daylight Saving Time would provide brighter evenings, promote outdoor activity, support local businesses and tourism, and help families avoid the unnecessary disruption caused by changing the clocks twice every year. Floridians have led the charge on this issue for years, and I’m proud to continue fighting to end the biannual clock change once and for all. msn.com/en-us/news/pol…

@Arkypatriot We are in the 21st century; A reasonable solution is to find ways that would enable people to use their daylight more effectively without moving when noon “is." Finding ways to get employers to set up staggered work schedules.

People are not getting this. In January, most of the country gets roughly 9–10 hours of daylight no matter what we call the clock. Example: STANDARD TIME: ☀️ Sunrise: ~7:15 AM 🌅 Sunset: ~5:00 PM PERMANENT DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME: ☀️ Sunrise: ~8:15 AM 🌅 Sunset: ~6:00 PM That is the SAME amount of daylight. You did not gain sunlight. You just moved the clock one hour later and created darker mornings in winter. The sun doesn’t change. The clock does

Once again, there are talks about making daylight saving time permanent. Here is what it would look like in Indianapolis for the summer solstice (unchanged) and winter solstice (no fall back):

Going to Permanent Daylight Saving Time would be unwise. It was tried in the 70s already. Pointless to do again. Railroad companies brought America its current four mainland time zones in the 1880s as a way to standardize arrival times for trains. In 1918, the Standard Time Act fully enshrined that system into law. And, in 1966, Congress passed the Uniform Time Act. Arizona opted out of the UTA in 1968 because, uh, NO ONE HERE WANTED THE SUN UP IN JUNE AT 8:42pm! Without my Legislative ancestors opting out of Saving Time way back when, we’d still have the sun up at 8pm in late June in Phoenix and it wouldn’t be entirely dark here until 9:13pm. I love not changing my clocks ever. One of the many amazing things about why I love it here. All that said - ditch Saving Time completely and #StandardizeStandard @SaveStandard

Stop changing clocks = GOOD. Permanent Daylight Saving time = BAD. It was tried in 1974 as an experiment and was so unpopular Congress cancelled the experiment before it was over. Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Permanent Standard Time (my HB119) is the healthier, more geographically appropriate choice. And it's already federally approved. @SaveStandard @SupportStandard

Here are four polls, three of which prefer Daylight Savings Time, only one of which prefers standard. It’s what the people want. In more northern climates, people go to work in the dark and return home in the dark during winter. Daylight savings gives the the ability to see the sun, to have family time outdoors, to get needed light to minimize seasonal affective disorder.

It’s imperative that we revert to STANDARD, not Daylight time, for two reasons, one of which you may have never considered. You know the first: solar noon is closest to 12 o’clock all year. That means an equal number of hours before and after noon each day. This also means earlier sunrises which are significantly better for establishing a healthy circadian rhythm. The second reason is that nearly ONE THIRD of US counties are in the wrong timezone. A significant swath of the country isn’t only an artificial hour ahead because of daylight time… but TWO HOURS ahead of true solar time. Year-round daylight time, especially without recalibrating time zones, would establish this error permanently, affecting millions of Americans. We should be letting the Sun dictate the day the way God made it. Arbitrary, artificial tampering would be worse for us all. Fix the time zones and affix standard time.

@NEWSMAX All Daylight Saving Time does make people go to work an hour earlier than before. Many people would protest if they were ordered directly to go to work an hour earlier than before. So they reset the clock, then told everyone they were "given" an hour of sunlight in the afternoon
