Sadly Home University has plenty spots. Especially in this portal age parents need a crash course in recruiting and a dose of reality if they want there kid to have a chance at the college level

Today, at this point in the year, a father of a senior basketball player emails me and asks for my help getting his son to a D1. Kid doesn’t have a single offer. Not one. Nothing. Dad says “we know his worth and nothing else will be enough”. Ok. Good luck sir. I’m not your guy.

@TweetsbyCoachP Accurate assessment Parents n athlete education is key. Covid year, NIL and the portal have changed the landscape. Sadly the high school athletes are the ones suffering. Chase your dream but be educated about it. Lack of education is why a lot of kids sitting sitting at home

You seem to be seeking genuine engagement so I will do so. I made a post that represented 0.35555% of all college coaches (literal number by the way). Was clear to say “take that for what it’s worth to you” and simply shared what those coaches said. I only want to inform. The notion of chasing your dreams is beautiful and one I encourage….however I do not want kids doing so blindly. We are quick to spotlight the outliers & those that truly beat the odds as if there are not literally 1000s every year this doesn’t apply to. As if 1000s end up nowhere by doing that very thing. In todays recruiting climate you are FAR more likely to realize your D1 dream by simply continuing to play at ANY level post high school than you are getting the offer straight out of HS if you’re not a top ranked recruit (topic for another day). My purpose is to simply share and inform. To help kids understand the difficulties and what it entails and then do everything they can to beat those odds.

@TweetsbyCoachP Coach I have a genuine question. What are you trying to promote with this post? I see none ranked kids signing D1 everyday. I see the same happening at the D2 level. I think you are pushing fear for a hidden agenda. Kids chase your dreams. Dont listen to fear mongers 👆

Sounds like kids not getting proper advice. Odds highly likely he won’t get anything else time of year. Should’ve known you were juco before starting dialogue. SMH

PSA for college coaches and aspiring professional players ‼️ This “agent” is charging guys $150 just to talk, sent over a fake list of teams interested in the player & now asking for another $310 for Visa fee’s before next steps. Be careful. Called him out now he’s blocked me.

@Dusty_Knows I think a lot of coaches would 100% take that body of work as their own if they could. But that doesn’t mean the front office doesn’t have a good reason to let him go.

Look don’t be fooled! Plenty of guys at all levels are transferring because Coach told them their scholarship is NOT renewed! That’s FACT! BUT The guys leaving a scholarship to “explore”. Got bad advice! That’s not “betting on yourself” that’s just not a smart business move!
