@johnnyfitba I got stranded at Foxboro station in 2016 for a Copa America game.. legitimately couldn't get an Uber or taxi back. The booking system for the train was non-existent. There is nothing around the stadium either, not a fun place to be stranded...

I went to Gillette for an NFL game in 2015 on my honeymoon. Here’s the photo I took as I got off the train - there isn’t even a station. The train just stops in the middle of nowhere. I’ve been to *loads* of American stadia and Gillette was the joint-least accessible

NEW: MBTA confirm $80 return ticket Boston to Gillette Stadium during World Cup, after @TheAthleticFC first reported it would be over $75. Quadruple the usual price for NFL games. No concessions for kids, over-60s or passengers with accessibility needs nytimes.com/athletic/71501…

LISAs! Not in Budget, but in docs. #Budget2025 Consultation on replacing the Lifetime ISA with a new first time buyers product will take place in early 2026 (so probably take longer for it to be launched.) And I have been promised by a very senior member of the government, that this will include looking at increasing the £450,000 threshold of the existing LISA as the people who have those, cannot be left with a dead product. I will also be lobbying that if the new product is better people should be able to transfer all their LISA (and Help To Buy) money into it.

The reviews of FM26 are brutal. 50% of players hate it and the other 50% aren't exactly thrilled. Here are nine things I think they need to fix IMMEDIATELY to get people back on side 👇

@moving_charlie What about someone who would never have the opportunity to save outright for a house but could buy with a small deposit, they should just rent forever?

Moving Home with Charlie
Moving Home with Charlie@moving_charlie·
Buying a £300k home with a 50k deposit and a 30yr 5% mortgage for the balance means you need to sell it for £965,000 at the end, just to break even. Your £300k home with a £250k 5% mortgage over 30 years will actually cost you £513,000 including interest, excluding maintenance. So you won’t make any “profit” on it until its value exceeds £513,000, AND THEN you need to adjust for inflation. 30 years of inflation even at just 2% means it will need to sell at £965,000. TO BREAK EVEN. See why renting and investing might be a faster way to ownership? To determine the future value of the home needed in 30 years to break even on all costs, including the mortgage interest and accounting for 2% annual inflation, we need to calculate the total cost of the mortgage (principal plus interest), adjust it for inflation, and ensure the home’s value covers this amount plus the initial deposit, also adjusted for inflation. Step 1: Total Mortgage Costs From the previous calculation, for a £250,000 mortgage with a 5% interest rate over 30 years: •Total interest paid = £233,059 •Principal = £250,000 •Total mortgage cost = £250,000 + £233,059 = £483,059 Step 2: Adjust Total Mortgage Cost for Inflation Inflation at 2% per year over 30 years increases the future value of money. We use the future value formula for inflation: [ FV = PV \cdot (1 + i)^n ] Where: •( PV ) = present value = £483,059 •( i ) = annual inflation rate = 2% = 0.02 •( n ) = 30 years Calculate: [ (1 + 0.02)^{30} = 1.02^{30} \approx 1.811361 ] [ FV = 483,059 \cdot 1.811361 \approx 875,054 ] The inflation-adjusted total mortgage cost in 30 years is approximately £875,054. Step 3: Adjust the Initial Deposit for Inflation The initial deposit is £50,000. Adjust this for 2% inflation over 30 years: [ FV = 50,000 \cdot 1.811361 \approx 90,568 ] The inflation-adjusted value of the deposit is approximately £90,568. Step 4: Total Future Value Needed to Break Even To break even, the home’s future value must cover: •The inflation-adjusted mortgage cost (£875,054) •The inflation-adjusted deposit (£90,568) [ \text{Total future value} = 875,054 + 90,568 = 965,622 ] Step 5: Final Answer The home’s future value in 30 years needs to be approximately £965,622 to break even on all costs, including the mortgage interest and accounting for 2% annual inflation.

@milesSI Time to step down @milesSI , soliciting pre-orders whilst knowing delivery of the game was at risk is pretty scummy.

@DoctorBenjy Understand the value / price arguments - but we're genuinely talking about a series which hasn't really seen much development in 8 releases.

@DoctorBenjy Being asked to pay full price for a reskin last year whilst we have patience with this overhaul. Now being a month from release with no real teasers being asked to pre-order for full value to put our trust in SI again. Worrying times ahead really.

If you're currently cross or angry/disappointed or let down about FM25 can I ask why? Genuinely curious if it's misplaced or if people are rightly put off FM25 for legit reasons.

@BenjaminGrocott @fozzy_mufc @nocontextfm1 FM fans always use this defence, it's pretty flawed as these days you need a good CPU to run a proper save anyways, it can't run on a proper potato anyways. We're not even at the PS2 graphics stage yet..

@fozzy_mufc @nocontextfm1 It doesn’t need to. The beauty of the game is you can run it on a potato and get the same enjoyment out of it. It shouldn’t need a decent Pc to be able to run. The day you’re checking what fps you can run FM at will be a sad one

@OfficialVizeh The dog shouldn’t be put down either, the owner should take full responsibility & go to prison for the dog’s actions in the case with the death. The dog which has been trained to be violent, just needs to be “untrained” rather than put down surely?
