I’m not kidding. A woman on FB said she wouldn’t get the Pfizer vaccine bc or “spike cell becoming loose” (???) but she took literal horse medication. HORSE

People won’t get the vaccine but will get literal HORSE medicine. Is it just the south that is this stupid?

@premedanon @eosinopheels As much as you think I don't get it, I do. I'm trying to highlight what an old, tired, patronizing line of thought that whoever said it (and whoever repeats it) is passing on to the new generations. If one can't see the inherent bias in the comment, they're not paying attention.

i know people mean well but i have heard so much of “Dr. xyz said med school isn’t worth it, being a doctor isn’t worth it. just become a nurse anesthetist/NP/PA” and it’s discouraging to hear while in the middle of applying to medical school

@MiaowABQ @eosinopheels It’s not discouraging for someone to tell you to become a PA & NP. It’s discouraging that people try and tell you to not follow your dreams and you’ll be miserable all the time. It has literally 0% to do with NP/PA professions

@eosinopheels @premedanon Then why is it so discouraging to hear someone suggest you become an APC? You're just propagating this mythos that is already well established - "don't become a physician, take the easy route instead!" I don't know, I hear you but it sounds like backpedaling to me. 🤷

@MiaowABQ @eosinopheels I think this is highlighting what someone else said to them, not their view points. I don’t think they meant anything bad about any other profession…

@eosinopheels Yay but way to totally devalue the hard work and dedication that goes into becoming a "just a CRNA, NP, or PA" while simultaneously complaining about someone trying to limit you. A little self awareness goes a long way. 👍

This anatomy boot camp is really helping me see why everyone warns you about anatomy in med school😳🥲
