Our paper “Exponential Quantum Advantage in Processing Massive Classical Data” proves that quantum machines can solve common machine learning tasks using exponentially less memory than a classical machine would require. Much further work will be needed to translate this theory into practice. But because modern AI is often hampered by insufficient memory, this finding bolsters our confidence that quantum AI can eventually have a broad impact on daily life.
