@eph__em__era @aurora_reads To be fair, sometimes they show up out of nowhere. I was reading 'A Broken Blade' which is a high-fantasy adventure and then in the last 5 pages he's graphically fingering her. Hit me like a SLAP.

@aurora_reads sex scenes are important to the narrative and often provide a lot of characterisation. if you can't read them, then don't read books with them include, cmon.

@jayneiskool If there was ever a sci-fi book to read for people who aren’t into sci-fi, this is it.

@jayneiskool No. Project Hail Mary is an excellent book but it's far from the space operas that lots of people associate with sci-fi. PHM is a lot more heartfelt and familial than most sci-fi stories IMO.

people thinking booksellers just get to read all day is making my eye twitch as a bookseller bc our job is extensive customer service and hard manual labor esp if you’re at a large store

@Shawn_Herondale I absolutely buy things I haven't read, but probably 85% of my books are secondhand and therefore much more affordable. I'm extremely selective about the books I buy at retail for that reason.

OK, if you have followed me for a long time you know that I am not racist in any way shape or form. God made all humans in His image and we are all beautiful in different ways. I am getting tired however of everyone getting rid of white culture just to be politically correct. The Odyssey is a brilliant poem written by Greeks about Greek mythology. Lupita Nyong'o has been cast as Helen of Troy, which is just another PC stupid move by Hollywood. If you took any kind of ancient literature about non-white countries that were written thousands of years ago and made one of the main characters in the movie white, everyone would throw a fit! Rightly so! That’s unrealistic and historically inaccurate. People would be burning down cities in a crazy frenzy. This is not fair. Am I saying this woman is not beautiful? I absolutely am not saying that! Lupita Nyong'o is a gorgeous woman when you see what she looks like normally and not just this picture, but she is not a Greek woman! That’s just not factual. This is an absolute insult to anyone who is Greek. This is why I don’t watch any Hollywood shows or movies for the most part anymore unless my favorite actors or actresses are in them. I personally have Nordic, Native American, Middle Eastern and Irish blood in me. I am proud of all of my family members that came from around the world, so when I see movies or shows that do the opposite of whitewashing different cultures it really annoys me. It’s just not fair and is totally disrespectful! And since it’s popular right now to hate the white man and woman, it’s almost like they’re trying to erase us as a race. I am not down with that crap. This is just so incredibly annoying.

4) The Hive - Gregg Olsen ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Average Lululemon sales experience Very fun, meaty true crime-style book with tons of POVs to sort through. A bit dense, but worth the effort.
