Pemerintah Republik Indonesia menyampaikan duka cita yang mendalam atas gugurnya satu personel pemelihara perdamaian Indonesia dan tiga personel lainnya terluka saat bertugas di United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), setelah serangan artileri tidak langsung mengenai posisi kontingen Indonesia di dekat Adchit Al Qusayr pada tanggal 29 Maret 2026. Insiden terjadi di tengah laporan saling serang antara militer Israel dan kelompok bersenjata di Lebanon selatan. Indonesia mengecam keras insiden tersebut dan menyerukan dilakukannya penyelidikan yang menyeluruh dan transparan. Indonesia sangat berduka atas kehilangan ini. Kami memberikan penghormatan setinggi-tingginya kepada personel yang gugur atas dedikasi dan pengabdiannya bagi perdamaian dan keamanan internasional. Doa dan simpati kami bersama keluarga yang ditinggalkan, serta mendoakan pemulihan sepenuhnya bagi personel yang terluka. Indonesia bekerja sama dengan UNIFIL untuk memastikan repatriasi jenazah dilakukan segera serta memberikan perawatan medis terbaik bagi yang terluka. Keselamatan dan keamanan personel pemelihara perdamaian PBB harus senantiasa dihormati sepenuhnya, sesuai dengan hukum internasional. Setiap tindakan yang membahayakan peacekepeer tidak dapat diterima dan mengganggu upaya bersama dalam menjaga perdamaian dan stabilitas. Indonesia kembali mengecam keras serangan Israel di Lebanon selatan dan menyerukan kepada seluruh pihak untuk menghormati kedaulatan dan integritas teritorial Lebanon, menghentikan serangan yang membahayakan warga dan infrastruktur sipil, serta kembali pada dialog dan diplomasi guna mencegah eskalasi lebih lanjut dan mewujudkan perdamaian. Indonesia terus berkoordinasi erat dengan PBB dan otoritas terkait, serta akan terus memantau perkembangan situasi secara seksama.

The Government of the Republic of Indonesia expresses its deepest condolences following the death of one Indonesian peacekeeper and the injury of three others serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), after indirect artillery fire in the vicinity of the Indonesian UNIFIL contingent’s position near Adchit Al Qusayr on 29 March 2026, amid reported hostilities between the Israeli military and armed groups in southern Lebanon. Indonesia strongly condemns the incident and calls for a thorough and transparent investigation. We are profoundly saddened by this loss. We pay our highest respect to the fallen peacekeeper for his dedication and service to international peace and security. Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family, and we wish a full and swift recovery to the injured personnel. Indonesia is working with UNIFIL to ensure the prompt repatriation of the fallen and the best possible medical treatment for the injured. The safety and security of UN peacekeepers must be fully respected at all times, in accordance with international law. Any harm to peacekeepers is unacceptable and undermines collective efforts to maintain peace and stability. Indonesia reiterates its condemnation of Israel's attacks in southern Lebanon and calls on all parties to respect Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, cease attacks against civilian populations and infrastructure, and return to dialogue and diplomacy to prevent further escalation and advance peace. Indonesia remains in close coordination with the United Nations and relevant authorities and will continue to closely monitor developments.

Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. We are outraged. An Indonesian peacekeeper is murdered. Another is fighting for his life. Israel bombed the base where they served. This is clearly not an accident, nor a collateral damage. This is Netanyahu’s regime showing, once again, that they don’t care about international law, about UN personnel, and about the lives of those who dedicate themselves to peace. Indonesia has gone above and beyond. We have sent over 1,200 of our troops to serve under the UN flag. The Indonesian government also joined the Board of Peace to push for a just and lasting resolution in the Middle East. We extended our hand in good faith. Yet the answer to that good faith is a bomb dropped on our soldiers’ base. They spat on every effort Indonesia has made for peace. But let us be honest, this is not surprising. Netanyahu’s regime has shown time and again that they are indifferent to the world’s calls for restraint. They ignore UN resolutions. They strike UN facilities. They kill civilians, journalists, aid workers, and now peacekeepers. No one is off-limits. No one is safe. Sadly, it keeps going because the world keeps allowing it. To the UN Secretary-General, we appreciate your condemnation and your condolences. But words are not enough anymore. The UN must move beyond statements. Concrete, enforceable, and urgent action is what this moment demands. The credibility of the UN is on the line. If the world body cannot protect its own peacekeepers, what exactly is it protecting? To the nations of the world, now is the time to act together. Push for accountability. Refer those responsible to international courts. Enforce the rules that you all signed up to uphold. International law is only as strong as the willingness of nations to defend it. That willingness has been tested over and over again by Netanyahu’s regime. For countless of times, the world has failed the test. Do not let this death be forgotten in a news cycle. Do not let this become just another statistic in a long list of violations. Demand justice. Demand accountability. Make clear that those who attack UN peacekeepers will face real consequences. Kepada prajurit TNI yang gugur, selamat jalan, Pahlawan.
