DICON-D7G CEO LEADS INSPECTION TO NIGERIA’S FIRST MILITARY JETTY, A MAJOR BOOST TO PRESIDENT TINUBU’S HOPE AGENDA FOR INDIGENOUS DEFENCE PRODUCTION
The Chief Executive Officer of Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON-D7G), Mr. Osman Chennar, alongside members of the Board of Directors, has conducted an inspection visit to the site of Nigeria’s proposed First Military Jetty, a landmark infrastructure project aimed at strengthening the country’s indigenous defence production capacity.
Speaking to the media during the site visit, Mr. Chennar described the project as a strategic enabler for Nigeria’s expanding defence manufacturing ambitions.
The jetty, which spans approximately 60 square meters, is strategically located near Tin Can Island Port in Lagos, positioning it at the heart of one of West Africa’s busiest maritime corridors; enhancing Logistics and Industrial Capacity.
According to Mr. Chennar, the military jetty will significantly improve Nigeria’s defence logistics chain by enabling the efficient importation of Completely Knocked Down (CKD) and Semi-Knocked Down (SKD) components, raw materials, and other critical supplies required for local assembly and large-scale production.
The facility will directly support the domestic manufacturing and assembly of Small and medium arms, Ammunition, Tactical drones and unmanned systems, 4x4 and 6x6 Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles, anti jammer drones as well as other critical military hardware.
The CEO maintained that DICON-D7G has already commenced production of DG103 rifles in Kaduna for Nigeria and Africa markets. It also intends to commence construction of it's proposed Military Jetty in Lagos which will at full capacity employ over 2,000 retired military personnel and 5,000 skilled civilians and provide thousands of military grade weapons and ammunition that can sufficiently equip the Nigerian Armed Forces and also be sold to friendly neighboring African countries.
"By strengthening in-bound logistics, the jetty is expected to reduce turnaround times, lower transportation costs, and streamline supply chain operations, key factors in scaling up local defence production. This is in addition to positioning Nigeria as a Regional Defence Hub" the CEO added.
A member of the Board of Directors, Major General Mainasara Abdul Masanawa (Rtd), emphasized that the jetty will also serve as an export gateway for finished defence products to friendly African nations.
This development, according to him, is projected to deepen regional defence cooperation and reinforce Nigeria’s position as a central hub for military manufacturing in Africa market.
“The project underscores DICON-D7G’s commitment to reducing reliance on foreign sources for defence equipment and reinforcing self-sufficiency for the Armed Forces of Nigeria, paramilitary organisations, and other security agencies,” General Masanawa stated.
“It will also support the defence needs of allied African nations through indigenous production, advancing Nigeria’s Defence Self-Reliance."
The establishment of the First Military Jetty aligns with Nigeria’s broader strategic objective of renewed hope agenda of achieving defence industrial self-reliance.
General Masanawa further said that by strengthening local production capabilities, DICON-D7G aims to minimize foreign exchange expenditure on defence imports, build local technical expertise and industrial capacity, generate employment and stimulate, technology transfer, enhance national security through sustainable, homegrown solutions.
The project is scheduled for an official launch in June 2026, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria’s journey toward a resilient and self-sustaining defence industrial base.
With this initiative, DICON-D7G is setting the stage for a new era in Nigeria’s defence manufacturing landscape—one defined by innovation, strategic autonomy, and regional leadership.

Eid-ul-Fitr: Minister Matawalle urges Nigerians to stay united, vigilant
The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has called on Nigerians to remain steadfast, vigilant and united in purpose as Muslims mark Eid-ul-Fitr.
In his 2026 Eid message, contained in a statement signed by his Personal Assistant on Media, Ahmad Dan-Wudil, the minister stressed the need for collective responsibility in safeguarding the nation’s peace and sovereignty.
“I urge all citizens to remain steadfast, vigilant, and united in purpose. Together, through shared responsibility and patriotism, we shall continue to safeguard our peace, defend our sovereignty, and advance the progress of our great nation,” Matawalle said.
He congratulated Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, commending their resilience and discipline throughout the holy month.
The minister expressed optimism that the Eid celebration would bring blessings to the country and strengthen the bonds of unity and love among Nigerians.
“As the month of Ramadan comes to an end, I extend my warmest greetings to our Muslim brothers and sisters across the nation,” he added.
Matawalle also urged citizens not to relent in the face of evolving national challenges, noting that unity, sacrifice and commitment to service remained critical to national development.

English

When the Supreme Council for Shari’a in Nigeria intervened to promote unity, Bello Matawalle showed immediate willingness to reconcile, but Dauda Lawal Dare delayed engagement and failed to honor his promise after Umrah. Nearly two years passed without progress. His eventual defection to APC now raises doubts about whether the move is motivated by genuine concern for Zamfara or political necessity.

MILITARY PAY REFORM: A TIMELY STEP TOWARD STRENGTHENING THE WELFARE AND MORALE OF NIGERIA’S ARMED FORCES 🇳🇬
In every serious nation confronting evolving security challenges, the welfare of military personnel must remain at the center of national policy. For Nigeria, where the Armed Forces continue to battle insurgency, banditry, terrorism, and other internal security threats, improving the conditions of service for soldiers is not merely an administrative decision. It is a strategic investment in national stability and security.
It is therefore both encouraging and commendable that the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken concrete steps toward addressing the long standing concerns surrounding military welfare. Under the leadership of the Federal Government and through the policy direction of the Ministry of Defence, efforts are now underway to review and reform the salary structure of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
Although the exact figures are yet to be officially confirmed, Private soldier salaries could rise to 300,000 with the senior officials earning as much as 4- 5 million naira, the reform process itself represents a significant turning point. It signals a clear recognition by the government that the men and women who defend Nigeria deserve improved welfare, stronger institutional support, and a remuneration structure that reflects the gravity of their responsibilities.
The defence of any nation demands extraordinary sacrifice. Nigerian soldiers serve in some of the most dangerous and demanding environments, often deployed far away from their families while confronting threats that test both their courage and endurance. Their commitment to duty, despite these challenges, has remained unwavering. For such patriots, improved welfare should never be seen as a privilege but as a national obligation.
The confirmation of this proposed reform by Bello Matawalle, the Honourable Minister of State for Defence, demonstrates the seriousness with which the current leadership of the defence sector is approaching the issue of military welfare. His commitment to advocating for better service conditions for personnel of the Armed Forces reflects an understanding that morale, discipline, and operational effectiveness are closely tied to how a nation treats those who defend it.
For many years, concerns about relatively low entry level pay and limited welfare incentives have posed challenges for recruitment and retention within the Armed Forces. Improving the salary framework will not only make military service more attractive to young Nigerians across all regions of the country but will also help retain experienced officers and skilled personnel whose expertise remains vital to national security.
Strong and motivated armed forces are the backbone of every stable nation. When soldiers are confident that their sacrifices are recognised and their welfare prioritised, the result is higher morale, stronger professionalism, and greater commitment to duty.
For this reason, the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the leadership of the Ministry of Defence, and the advocacy of Bello Matawalle deserve recognition and support. The ongoing reform initiative reflects a leadership that understands the importance of investing in those who risk their lives daily to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Nigeria.
Indeed, a nation that honours its soldiers strengthens its future. Those who defend Nigeria deserve dignity, support, and a welfare system that matches the scale of their sacrifice.

Since @aiishadahir blocked me for calling her out yesterday. lemme make this very clear.
She’s not doing this for Allah. She’s doing this for clout. For likes. For retweets. But she forgot that the content isn't hers to protect. She copied it from somewhere too. We all did. That's literally how reminders work. Nobody owns deen.
From today onward, I'm copying every single tweet she post. Word for word. Line for line. And posting it. Not because I need her reminders, but because her ego needs to be humbled.
And to all my mutuals, join me. Copy her tweets. Post them. Let her report all of us. Let her block us all. Let her spend her Ramadan hunting down Muslims sharing Islamic words while we're collecting the rewards.

Hi @aiishadahir addininan fa bana gidanku bane ku kadai. The reminders aren't yours. The reward wasn't yours to gatekeep. You're fighting over dunya while wrapping it in deen clothes. You didn't create those words. You also copied them from somewhere else the first time you posted them. Last year you even called a guy a kafir for the same reason. Now what’s the excuse? Is this girl also a kafir or atheist for sharing it?

The Minister of State for Defence and immediate past Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, on Monday welcomed Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, to the All Progressives Congress, describing the move as a historic political development for the state and Nigeria.
Matawalle said Lawal’s decision to join the ruling party marked the beginning of a new chapter of unity and cooperation in tackling the numerous challenges confronting Zamfara.
The former governor’s Media Adviser, Ahmad Dan-Wudil, disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists on Monday night in Abuja.
Matawalle noted that the development would strengthen collaboration among political stakeholders in addressing insecurity, banditry and kidnapping, which have continued to threaten peace in the North-West state.
He stressed that Zamfara requires the collective commitment of leaders and citizens to overcome its security challenges while supporting the development agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“For me, this development represents a political reunion with a friend and brother. We are united by the shared belief that Nigeria can, and must, work for all citizens,” he said.
The minister also urged members and supporters of the APC across Zamfara State to close ranks and strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
