On Friday, Kenya Red Cross, through its innovation lab @IOMe254, signed a partnership agreement with @PlasticOdyssey to establish a waste upcycling and prototyping workshop in Mombasa. The agreement, signed by Dr. Ahmed Idris and Simon Bernard, will create opportunities for communities to transform plastic waste into useful products and incubate enterprises. The event was graced by the Governor of Mombasa County H.E @A_S_Nassir, the Ambassador of France to Kenya H.E. @Arnaud_Suquet and PS @Profshaukat.

Working closely with the Netherlands Red Cross’ data and digital initiative, 510, the Kenya Red Cross Society enhanced cash assistance delivery through the innovative 121 Digital Platform. Over 8,000 households in Turkana, Baringo, and West Pokot received aid more efficiently and transparently during the USAID/BHA-funded drought response in the FY2023. The 121 Platform ensures safer, faster, and more accountable cash transfers, maintaining the integrity of our assistance efforts.
