My day so far, or what was supposed to be a relaxing day: Tried to buy 0.1 ETH with fiat through a no-KYC service… got rugged. Then I went to take a shower to end the day, only to realize the water wouldn’t shut off afterwards. Shower cabin is completely fucked. Plumber couldn’t fix it, so I need a whole new shower installed next Wednesday. Until then, I have to shut off the main water line every time I use any water. MOOD

if you're new to crypto and nfts, this is important: most communities are fake. like actually fake. and if you don't know what to look for you're gonna get scammed or waste time in a community that doesn't care about you so here's what i learned the hard way. red flags to watch for: 1. THEY ONLY TALK ABOUT PRICE if a community's only message is "price go up" you're in the wrong place. real communities talk about what they're building. what they're creating. the culture. projects that are just hype are dying projects 2. PROMISES WITH NO DELIVERY "coming soon" doesn't mean anything. if they've been saying something is "coming soon" for months and it hasn't happened? they're not building. they're stalling 3. FOUNDERS ARE INVISIBLE the team doesn't engage. doesn't answer questions. doesn't show up in the community. that's a bad sign. real projects have founders who are actually present 4. DISCORD IS TOXIC people are rude. mods are power tripping. everyone's trying to scam everyone else. that's not community. that's a casino 5. GATEKEEPING EVERYTHING they lock utility behind the nft. lock info behind paywalls. lock everything. real projects share and build openly NOW HERE'S WHAT YOU SHOULD ACTUALLY LOOK FOR: 1. THEY ACTUALLY BUILD don't listen to what they say. look at what they've DONE. have they released things? do those things actually work? @ppuffins dropped puffins rush. it works. done 2. COMMUNITY IS REAL not discord bots. not fake hype. real people. people who actually care about each other. who help each other. who celebrate wins together 3. TRANSPARENCY they tell you what's working and what's not. they don't hide failures. they admit mistakes. they're honest about the journey 4. CREATORS ARE SUPPORTED they actually help creators win. not just talk about it. they run contests. they feature people. they distribute opportunity. @ppuffins literally gave me an nft for winning their contest. that's real support 5. NO PRESSURE TO BUY you can be part of the culture without owning the nft. you can use utilities without paying ridiculous fees. it's accessible HOW TO EVALUATE IF A COMMUNITY IS ACTUALLY LEGIT: step 1: scroll their discord/twitter from 6 months ago is the conversation the same as today? or have they evolved? real projects change. they grow. they improve step 2: check if they actually delivered on promises they said they'd do x in january. did they? or did it become "february" then "march" then "coming soon"? step 3: talk to real members not mods. not the team. regular people in the community. ask them "why are you here?" if they say "price" you're in the wrong place. if they say "the culture" or "the people" or "i believe in what they're building" you might be onto something step 4: check if the nft has a purpose beyond price can you use it? does it do something? is it part of a real ecosystem or is it just "buy and hope price goes up"? step 5: see if they're honest about failures no project is perfect. the real ones admit it. they say "this didn't work" or "we're pivoting." projects that never admit anything is wrong? they're hiding something step 6: ask yourself: would i be here if there was no token/nft? if the answer is no, you're in it for the wrong reasons. if the answer is yes? you might have found something real WHY THIS MATTERS: crypto is a minefield. there are way more scams than real projects. but real projects exist. communities that actually care exist. @ppuffins is one of them. but you gotta know what to look for don't just follow the hype. don't just listen to what people promise. look at what they do. look at how they treat people. look at whether they actually deliver that's how you find real communities. and once you do? it changes everything stay safe out there fr fr 🐧🔥
