I didn’t get to attend the first day of the #blackistech conference, but I really enjoyed day 2 and am looking forward to tomorrow’s talk sessions

There is no reason why job applications should have required fields for street address, city, and state (the latter two usually done as dropdowns)...stop collecting intrusive data! There should only be a Y/N dropdown for "Can you reasonably commute to this location?"

Of course, there's a time and a place to use more efficient tools when necessary. SQL and Excel are sometimes used like square pegs trying to be put into a round hole.

Can we stop calling the people in positions that primarily use SQL or Excel as their tool "monkeys"? These tools have their place within analytics and shaming those that use them is just toxic gatekeeping.

Job postings like this are irritating...if you want a junior level person, then ask for junior level experience but don't undersell somebody by asking for mid-career experience #badjobdescription #datascience
