Yesterday we took part in the super kind community project where the whole school planted a seed. We are going to grow a flower then donate it to the local community. @PrimaryGreat#gcpsuperkind#gcppshe#gcpcommunity
In #gcpart, we have been learning about L.S.Lowry. Today we recreated one of his famous pieces of art using colour mixing and added the matchstick people with a black crayon. #delightandjoy@PrimaryGreat
Today, we started our very special 'grow and give' as part of our Superkind award. Every child in the school planted a seed and will be taking care of it over the next few weeks. We then hope to give the plants away to people in our community. @PrimaryGreat#DANCE
Today we were kindly gifted some magic beans from Mr Baxter, luckily we knew just what to do and we planted them in pots of soil, watered them and put them in the sunlight. We’re looking forward to seeing our beans grow. @PrimaryGreat#gcpearlyyears#gcpscience
The children in FS2 have made their own vegetable soup this week, after reading Oliver’s vegetables and learning where vegetables comes from we were inspired to try something new. @PrimaryGreat#gcpearlyyears#gcpdelightandjoy

Healing Academy Shortlisted for TES Inclusive School of the Year!
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are absolutely thrilled to share some incredible news with our school community. Healing Academy has been officially shortlisted for the TES Inclusive School of the Year 2026! We are one of only eight schools in the entire country to be selected for this prestigious shortlist.
At Healing Academy, inclusion is not just a word; it is the heartbeat of everything we do. As we celebrated this news as a staff, we reflected on a powerful quote from Professor Damian Hughes that perfectly captures the culture we strive to maintain:
"High performance cultures are not simply about who’s in the room. It’s about who feels heard and who feels valued. Inclusive cultures don’t happen by accident. They are built by design."
Our inclusive culture is built upon and reflects our DANCE values of:
Delight & Joy
Ambition
Nurture
Community
Empower
This recognition is a testament to the collective effort of our entire community, and we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks:
To our amazing staff: Thank you for going above and beyond every single day to break down barriers and ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.
To our brilliant students: You are the reason we strive for excellence. Your voices, your individuality, and your smiles are what truly make our school community what it is.
To our parents & carers: Thank you for trusting us with your children’s education and for taking this journey with us. This recognition belongs to all of us!
We look forward to the final awards ceremony later this year, but regardless of the final result, being named one of the top eight inclusive schools in the country is something we can all be proud of.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours sincerely,
Stephen Logan

Our topic this term is all about growing and today we’ve been talking about vegetables and where they come from. We made a chart of our favourite vegetable in reception - which is broccoli 🥦 @PrimaryGreat#gcpearlyyears
