This comparison is misleading.
In 2020, Kenya already had active COVID cases. The facility was a UN-Kenya-NBI Hospital partnership to treat Kenyans when our system was under pressure.
Right now, Kenya has zero Ebola cases. Bringing in an Ebola quarantine/treatment centre exclusively for US personnel is simply an unnecessary risk. Ebola is far deadlier and we don’t need to import that kind of danger.
Let’s stop playing politics with public health. This is not about past governments or scoring points. It’s about protecting Kenyans today.
Kenya first. Public health is not a political football.

Why can’t these Americans quarantine in America, their own home country with world-class medical facilities?
Why not quarantine in the actual country where they got infected?
Instead, they have to be flown all the way to Kenya (a country that is neither their home nor the source of the infection) and now Kenyan citizens must carry this unnecessary risk?
Explain the logic

I have been reserving my comments on the issue of Kenya agreeing to host an #Ebola quarantine centre in Kenya for a reason but nor anymore.
Before jumping into conclusions,we must never forget the role our country played during the Covid-19 pandemic.
We must also not sensationalise this issue and remember that Kenya is not being turned into an “Ebola dumping ground.” Kenya is being recognized as a trusted regional health and humanitarian hub with world-class quarantine and infectious disease infrastructure.
Cooperation with global partners is a sign of confidence in our medical systems, not weakness.
The facility at UN–The Nairobi Hospital was specifically designed for high-risk infectious disease response.
Controlled quarantine is not the same as releasing patients into the public. Fear should not replace facts. Kenya has the expertise, protocols, and international partnerships to manage such situations safely.

@TrezFT It wasn’t just one save and you know it! Also, Arsenal couldn’t beat Man City coz they now had Donnarumma! 😂

Most businesses don’t lose customers because their products are bad.
They lose them because replies come late, orders get missed, and chats become too many to handle manually.
That’s why we built Sasabot, an AI sales and customer service assistant for WhatsApp.
We’ll be live at AI Everything x GITEX Kenya 2026.

@NgoviRonal20113 @Kenyans You should visit Uganda to see how roads in a country without RML look like. This levy didn’t come from this regime.
English

@Kenyans Road matainance levy where does it go? because most of the roads in kenya are build by chanis companies, and are foreign funded. If that levy goes to the indented place . Why is Mombasa Malindi road not completed up to now 4yrs down the line. And fuel levy is being collected daily

It's not about punishment and reward. We need the best person for the job for Kenyans - someone available in all circumstances. Based on the nominated candidates, the interview process is about picking the best. It is unwise to hire someone who may be unavailable when real work, like a presidential petition, needs to be done.
English

@NjiruAdv We cannot punish a person based on the client the have represented in the past.
English

Recusal of a judge of the Supreme Court sitting to hear a presidential petition is not tenable.
The rule and the previous custom and practice has been that the bench of SEVEN must sit as a whole.
So Judge Katwat Kigen’s recommendation that he can recuse himself during a presidential petition is not founded in law.
Recusing himself during the presidential petition would seriously affect the quorum of the court, thus rendering it inoperative.
This means that the Supreme Court would never have the jurisdiction to hear the petition.
Now think about his proposal politically.

They've engineered the silence because they fear you more than they fear any judge. An informed public is their worst nightmare. So read the filings. Track the hearings. Ask the hard questions. The @IMFAfrica @KeTreasury, @NAssemblyKE, and every pen that signed these loans must answer.
Some politicians waiting in the wings will not speak because they hope to inherit the same broken system. To those seeking office: this is a test of principle. You cannot inherit a system you refuse to question.
We don't need their headlines to know our rights. The Constitution didn't give us a voice to whisper. The front page isn't theirs to give. It's ours to demand. Stay loud. Stay informed. The law is on our side
