@ZarrGoat Yes, some people just search the directory for people to play with or to join open lobbies. I usually avoid putting it in the title for that reason! I don’t want to make it any harder for my community to get in 🫶🏽

streamers how do you get a community there for you and not just to join your open lobbies, always trying to be right with their opinions, only joining for giveways, how do you get people to just vibe with YOU no matter what you do without any parasocial gamers?

@ZarrGoat Sometimes those new people for giveaways end up sticking around and it’s such a good feeling to be able to give back 💜 but don’t be afraid to set boundaries and make sure you prioritize your own comfort. You can’t make good content when you’re uncomfy in your own space 💜

@probablymish i only added the !giveaway command to the title but i also announced it a few times so i think thats where i messed up but tysm for the advice mish! i think through nightbot you can increase the luck to longer time viewers for giveaways so i'll definitely try that out!

@ZarrGoat For giveaways- I recommend not adding that to the title. Giveaways I view as a way of giving back to the community regardless of status in stream, but for cases where you want to limit to long time viewers you can use sites that use channel points to enter to help increase odds.

@ZarrGoat I don’t usually put open lobbies in the title to make it easier for people that are in the community to get in. If people are argumentative or can’t be respectful in sharing their opinion, set boundaries and don’t be afraid to remove people that make you uncomfortable.

@Lillipie101 @Staggiezz I feel this so much. Over the last year, the amount of racism I’ve experienced because of our current political climate has been insane. It’s gotten so much worse with ICE raids happening. It’s very frustrating to then see your peers be neutral because it doesn’t affect them.

I feel like this could be a bigger discussion in the DBD community. Misogyny is bad as a woman, but I'm not just a woman. I'm a black woman in this community, and the racism is crazy. I've been apart of the community for 6 years, have over 11k hours, all achievements, stream full-time, etc. yet receive little support from my peers because most rarely utilize their platforms. Maybe they're scared of alienating their audiences. I'm not sure. I used to be outspoken about this kind of stuff, but quieted about it thinking it would go away. Also because of the amount of backlash I would get for defending myself. I've had so many hate campaigns over the years to the point you'd think I'd killed someone. I've never said slurs, doxed, threatened, etc. anybody like some of these creators have. However, as my platforms have grown I've literally had to give my mods access to them because of just HOW many racist/misogynoir based comments I get. I love replying to people who love my gaming content, but subjecting myself to being called some of the worst things... is so weird. Obviously I deal with it, otherwise I wouldn't be here. I just shouldn't have to brave battles like this completely alone when my peers and this community isn't a stranger to me. 🤷🏾‍♀️
