An ADHD diagnosis doesn’t give you: ❌automatic rights to a blue badge ❌automatic right to disability benefits An ADHD diagnosis and treatment does give you: ✔️better mental and physical health ✔️reduced risk of premature death, substance misuse and a prison term

.@LindsayHoyle_MP Dear Sir Lindsay, Helen Whately is misleading the House. No one EVER got a Motability car for tennis elbow or acne. She presents no evidence because there is none. She is lying to whip up hatred of disabled people. Please refer her to the Privileges Committee.

Why can’t British people leave this Oliver Twist mentality in the past. Like literally every few days someone comes online to tell us how they were surviving on bread and sugar water and we should all accept that standard of living today. SHUT UP
Innocent Bystander@supertolerant

I was young in the 80s/90s in the UK. I don’t remember my parents ever going out to eat, except when we were on holiday (in the UK). I don’t think they ever took me to a fast food restaurant, or ordered takeaway food. People today have no clue how working people lived. /1

Without a fit note you can’t take time off if you are sick Without a fit note you can’t get sick pay So if you are off ill your employer can say it’s not sanctioned time off . You won’t be paid . You will probably be sacked. Who is this for ? Not the workers .

Too many people are sick, so they're deleting the evidence that they're sick. *that* is sick.

Really struggling to see the point of this. A sick note is a pause so you can get better. Why are we not allowed to pause so we can get better? I've only ever had one, and it was desperately needed, I can't imagine what would have happened without it.

GPs in England will no longer issue “sick notes” in NHS trials to reduce the number of people signed off work Occupational therapists and “social prescribers” who recommend job coaching and therapy like exercise or gardening will be used instead to draw up stay in work plans

Thinking of the countless tears I have witnessed after someone has been granted a ‘sick note’ from their GP surgery — permission, after months or years of desperately trying to keep it together to finally prioritise their health. This reprieve often allows people to stay in work.

Some people cannot work, even though they would dearly love to. It's as simple as that. And their wives / husbands / whoever also cannot work because they're caring for them 24/7. These are just facts. What does making those people poorer achieve?
LurgeeLiz@LurgeeLife

Andy Burnham's Centre for Social Justice wants to remove PIP & LCWRA from 1.1m claimants - those currently assessed as too ill or disabled to work But simultaneously only expects 10% (110,000) to move into work So enforced poverty on ~1 million chronically ill & disabled people

Pure fucking evil that will lead to a big increase in poverty, unemployment and excess deaths from ill health. Furious that their Euthanasia Bill got blocked, Labour are now opting to socially cleanse disabled people from the country through other means.

As a consultant clinical psychologist, I must say: the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change calling moderate depression, ADHD and back pain “non-work-limiting” is scientifically illiterate. What DO they share? Maximum public suspicion—making them an easy 🎯if one lacks ethics.

Look: There is no such thing as overdiagnosis. There is just diagnosis (correct) or misdiagnosis (wrong). If a diagnosis is correct, then you can't have too much of it.

Labour has an ableism problem. The Prime Minister & his Cabinet are all ableist bigots, hypocritically inflicting upon disabled & ill people the cuts they (rightly) condemned their predecessors for. Labour are liars, bigots &, ultimately, wilful killers of vulnerable people.
WOWcampaign@WOWpetition

Labour say cutting sickness, and disability support Universal Credit, from £429.80 to £217.26 per month, will get disabled to work A million disabled people were sanctioned by the DWP from 2010 -2018 53% more likely to be sanctioned if disabled National Audit Office 2016
