The Park With No Name art installation was unveiled today. It features banners of powerful quotes in both English and Traditional Chinese, as part of the city's ongoing anti-racism efforts. Learn more about the art installation here: calgary.ca/arts-culture/p… #downtowncalgary

I regret to inform you that Commander Orion's Sunday Morning Cat Tricks was unsuccessful today. She came out to the balcony on her own, and I had hoped that the routine (habitus!) of doing the cat tricks would encourage her to eat, but she had no interest in the treats.

@ahtzib I've always loved the Lovecraftian style in the story. The level of Venkman's sleaze makes it pretty much unwatchable, tho. This is the movie that made me realize that most 1980s comedies are "boys will be boys" antics. Do any of these writers not have restraining orders?

@tinysapien I like to point out that Obama was reading most (all?) of his speeches off of a teleprompter. It's the delivery that matters.

What a time to be alive, when the words "Billion dollar shitshow" could refer to any number of things.

@dangergrrlie I'm going to go with the last one, I guess. Not great options, though.

It's only fair, if this 1800-year old (Han Dynasty) ceramic horse is going to live in my head. Then I should gift it, on so it can live in your brain as well!

@BillCaraher On a related note, what’s the gender neutral form of “Booklord”? (Yes, not just dated by gender but media form as well)

Librarian friends! What’s the proper way to address a formal email to a librarian (who doesn’t appear to have a PhD or doctorate)? Dear Librarian xxxxx? Are they like coaches and professors and get addressed by their title?

@HKNorton The last time I remember was when I was desperately trying to get all of the Star Trek: The Motion Picture themed ones. I think I ended up with all but one.

A big part of pivoting from a career path that your education and training is in to an alternative industry is grieving the loss of the "dream job." Even if it turns out the dream was a nightmare, it's ok to mourn the loss of it.
