He took a practice swing in which he hit the fescue on the way back and through. He immediately looked back at said fescue. Then stepped on the same fescue twice. Then hit his shot without hitting that particular patch of fescue on the back swing. He is the tittiest of babies.

Why, why, why did they soften the course for today? Guys playing this afternoon are basically getting a couple strokes from the guys who played yesterday afternoon.

Cliff Roberts is often maligned - he has been called a million names, but the Masters wouldn’t be a Major without him and it certainly wouldn’t be the sacred Major without him. Roberts was a flawed man - even at the club he helped create, he was more feared than loved, but almost everything you love about @TheMasters was shaped by either Cliff Roberts or the principles he installed. For the folks watching at home- Roberts insisted on perfection - the conditioning of the course was first and foremost. Isn’t it great that we have limited commericials- that too we owe a debt of gratitude to Roberts. Roberts demanded perfection and would constantly be telling CBS how to best show the Masters on television. He understood that to open up the doors to their private club, that it should always put its best foot forward. For the patrons on the course- every aspect of that experience was either created or it was shaped by Cliff Roberts. There is a reason Masters tickets are so revered- it’s because this Major is different- I don’t know if it’s the best of the four majors, but it’s 100% the best to attend. The entire tournament, even changes that are made today, are shaped by the high standards of Augusta’s first Chairman. Cliff Roberts saved ANGC from bankruptcy, he helped orchestrate its mystique and alienated many in an effort to make ANGC and the Masters what it is today. Today his name is often whispered, rather than said out loud, because despite delivering the best Major Championship experience, despite saving the club from foreclosure, despite putting the players and the patrons first, his legacy has been shaped by the club’s discriminatory policies under his leadership. #GolfHistory
