new models are shipping weekly. each with different strengths. the teams winning aren't the ones who picked the "best" model 6 months ago they're the ones who can swap tomorrow without rewriting anything model loyalty is a liability when the field moves this fast.

your image is 900×600. that's 0.54 megapixels. most inference providers round up to the 1MP tier. you get billed for 1024×1024. almost double. pixels you never asked for. we don't round. you pay for what you generate. sounds small. multiply by 500K gens and get back to me.

closed source image gen: ~$0.15/image open source via prodia: ~$0.004/image 37x cheaper. same prompt. quality gap closing fast. at 1M images/month that's $150K vs $4K the question isn't if open source is good enough. it's how long you justify paying 37x more.
