Jeffrey R. Holland was inaugurated as President of BYU in 1980, the same year I started as a student. A few months after my baptism, he delivered a BYU Devotional entitled "The Inconvenient Messiah," which meant a lot to me at the time. I will miss him. youtube.com/watch?v=P_Ey39…

"232 years of corporate leadership" First modern corporate statute in Delaware (copying NJ) was in 1899. Before, Delaware was a corporate backwater. After, Delaware took years to lead in charters. Delaware courts did not lead for decades longer. Still impressive w/o exaggeration.

Elder Patrick Kearon (@patrickkearon) has been called as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was called on Thursday, December 7, 2023, and ordained later that day by President @NelsonRussellM and the other members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.  The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles is the second-highest presiding body in the government of the Church. In addition to their primary responsibility to be special witnesses of the name of Christ throughout the world, these Apostles have significant administrative responsibilities in overseeing the operation and development of a global Church. The Utah Supreme Court has announced a change in the "cut" for the bar examination, moving from 270 to 260 as of the July 2023 administration. Many law professors outside Utah commented favorably on this proposal, and I am grateful for their support. legacy.utcourts.gov/utc/rules-appr…
