“What We Talk About When We Talk About Grades: Faculty Perceptions of Grades and Grading” session is brought to us by Margaret Chapman @mpattonchapman. It’s fascinating to see how faculty across disciplines think about their grading systems! #ElonTLC22

@profmikegreene @DukeLearning Michael, Wow!! What a thoughtful thread! Thanks for sharing your thoughts (and seriously excellent use of that drum roll emoji!). I think this is all spot-on. Have you considered rolling this up into a quickie advice or blog article (if you haven't done so already)?

I'm thinking about the adoption of one-off innovative tools for virtual learning that don't have institutional support and haven't been vetted for accessibility. I'm not opposed to this practice per se, but it does make me think about sustainable & inclusive strategy? #pprs22

@DukeLearning @Jenae_Cohn For students in some countries (ex. China) some commonly used tools (Google Docs, Google Sites, WhatsApp) may not be accessible. Students may be able to work around this problem by using a VPN; however, this solution may not be straightforward for students. 7/

@DukeLearning @Jenae_Cohn We recommend using Duke supported and endorsed tools to keep things simple, secure and reliable, but realize you might also be faced with a situation that warrants the use of non-Duke tools. 2/
