When we start our careers, it feels like we should have the line to success all planned out. But, if I’ve learned anything the past 10 years, it’s actually a squiggly line of changing direction and stumbling across new interests. This has been my career so far 👇👩🏻‍💻 18 → Chose not to go to university, even though teachers told me I’d fail if I didn’t 😅 19 → Finished my Apprenticeship in Digital Marketing, at a time where they paid £120 a week (it’s much better now, I’m told!) 20 → Joined a PR agency after two years as a social media assistant 📝 21 → Worked on the press team for the world's biggest AV Tech Conference. 22 → Brought Digital Marketing services into the traditional PR agency I worked for 🙋🏻‍♀️ 23 → Quit my PR job after four years to freelance. I had my eyes set on working for creators but didn’t know how to get there. 24 → Spent two years working with small business owners, helping them build their personal brand. Grew my own Twitch community to 2k in this time too 🌟 25 → Applied for a job on @AliAbdaal's (YouTuber, 5M Subs) start-up team as a content writer, and spent the next year taking on 6 different roles. 26 → Became Ali’s Head of Socials. I grew his accounts by half a million in 1 year, worked with amazing brand sponsors, and coached hundreds of creators as part of the Part-Time YouTuber Academy 🙏 27 → Quit my job to travel for 6 months while working for new creators. Currently sat writing this on the ninth stop of my trip, in Indonesia. 28 → Soon, the next chapter 🚀 Looking back, a lot of my career has been fuelled by a healthy sense of delusion and a willingness to try and fail. If 18-year-old Becky knew what was to come, she’d pinch herself. Try having a look back on what you've done so far. I have to say, this has helped me to feel even more inspired ✨

C) Eat the frog The plan is - 6:45am wake up 7-10am work on most important task 10-11am exercise (run, spin, walk) 11am-12pm shower, eat, journal 12-4pm second work block Let's see how this helps with focus, creativity, and feeling like I have my evening free 🧠

B) Journal first 7-8am write 6 pages I use Julia Cameron's Morning Pages to battle imposter syndrome as I build my business. But I have found sitting down to write first thing sends me into bigger picture mode, rather than 'what do I need to get done today' mode

I'm a sucker for life-optimising, and my recent obsession is finding a morning routine that works best and fuels creativity I've tried: A) Exercise first: run, spin, or long walk B) Journal first: morning pages C) Now trialling: eat the frog What works best for you?

Just found a cool site for digital nomads and content creators: rentremote.com If you’re traveling but need fast internet, a workspace with monitors, and a camera/podcast setup, this site has you covered. Super useful for working on the go!

@gwilymsw Like the chilled recap vibes Gwilym! Pre-packaging your thoughts is a fun way to put it - I've found morning pages SO helpful recently. 6 pages of consciousness every day really helps you get to the bottom of things. Should probably turn them into tweets 😅

@ohamaruri No, and I think it's possible for creators to do it naturally without having to force anything Life of Tom (Syndicate) is a great example of this, aside from the Casey Neistat example we all know and love @LifeOfTom" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">youtube.com/@LifeOfTom

Everything I’ve achieved so far has been because of complete delulu & a willingness to step into the unknown: → didn’t go to Uni even though my teachers told me I’d fail if I didn’t → quit my job in tech PR because I wanted to break into new industries → joined @AliAbdaal's team as a content writer, having never written a real YouTube script → pitched myself for Head of Content, even though I felt huge imposter syndrome (and got it) → quit my job again to digital nomad and figure out what’s next Why not try?

How do we feel about multi-angle talking heads? i.e. creator is looking at us, then we cut to angle #2 where they're now looking past us. Puts me off the instant I see it. Breaks immersion. Feels impersonal. But I still see a lot of folks using it 🤷‍♂️

@heydannymiranda Yes, but only if there's mutual respect of each other's individual journey, otherwise it'll turn into a weird battle of who needs to change

Don’t get hung up on upholding a perfect posting schedule. Keep in mind this is a perfect schedule and a lot of big creators (with a full-time team) don’t even have it, so take it easy. The best schedule is the one you can stick to!
