Congratulations to the team of @ProbstLab for meaningfully condensing a lot of #metagenomics knowledge into this summer school. Participants not only have learned about the benefits of e.g. long read #sequencing, they found hands on experience and likeminded peers 🙏

#Competition in the scientific world is undeniable. After all, we all want to gain recognition and make an impact. But we must not forget the true purpose of science: Advancing knowledge for the benefit of society. We appreciate Wei Xiu's attitute towards collaboration very much.

#Metagenomics can be a tool to better understand the anthropogenic disturbances affecting wildlife. We hope we could help Kerstin and the @SSommerLab on their mission.

The scientists @ProbstLab @unidue are contributing to a shrinkage of the DNA amount needed for sequencing, enabling not only detection of microbes at the seafloor, but also pathogens early in the contagion phase and incubation period. (among a vast number of other use cases)
