I finished my PhD at 26. I regret this. Take time off between grad school and undergrad. Live your life. Defer, read, work, explore, party, save, make art, sleep. Don’t rush. Grad school is not the safety net you think it is. The degree will be there when you’re done. Enjoy life!

My uncle was killed by STL police as well. His son came to my law camp and learned how lawyers can effect change.⬇️

What a damning indictment of the nation this is! Not only did the USA have more time to prepare than other countries that have already contained their outbreaks, all the states outside of NY/NJ area watched what happened there & still didn’t take the warning seriously enough.

I'm still buying Black as much as I can, as I have been a champion of for years. I refuse to shame people but we have to talk about this. We did this after Trayvon, after Mikey...we are repeating history & probably aren't better off than after slavery and/or before integration.

Yea 1.5 trillion buying power blah blah blah, what "power" are showing them?? These businesses can withstand one day of us not buying from them. What do we want exactly? Celebrities got us confused and they ain't the ones hurting or moving mass wealth to make what we need happen.

T.I. did all that just for us to be depending on Walmart, Ikea, and Home Depot again today. We have gaping holes in our economic situation and the models we are using to fight it aren't working, evidently.

But the idea we have to choose between ending capitalism or achieving an improved quality of life is akin to people thinking we have to choose between public health or “re-opening the economy.” It’s a completely false framing. Racial capitalism is why folks can’t pay rent. 4/4

Fantasies are powerful and we are inundated with fantasies of living like the ruling white elite in media and advertising. So people are engaging in these false notions that ending capitalism might impact their own ability to be wealthy one day. 3/

The vast majority of us will *never* approach the level of wealth needed to be an actual capitalist. So it’s weird to me for working ppl to debate capitalism like there’s more than a next to zero chance that you or your descendants will achieve wealth under racial capitalism. 2/

Everyone could have an excellent quality of life if we‘d end the massive wealth hoarding and exploitive labor practices of the elite owner class. The idea that our quality of life would be lowered if we had more equitable access to resources & money makes zero sense. 1/
